@Incoming hmmm what merc did I hear that before, was that Vassili when he could still instagib? When you hit the shot you deserve it, that argument worked great for him…

Sparks doesn’t gib a full health merc with a headshot either at the moment.

I always read through these “Nerf Sparks because I hate that bitch”-threads and I honestly understand both sides.
But then I join a server and there’s rarely another sparks besides me. Like seriously, aside from the current free rotation there’s at most 3 sparks in the whole server, and 2 of those 3 are still figuring out how to play her.

And yeah, talking about pubs here…

Just because not many people play her doesn’t mean she isn’t broken. In fact this is probably one of the main reasons she hasn’t been fixed.

Just came out of a Minimum Level 10 match. My first time there.

3-4 Sparks on the other end. In a match where everyone is capable of headshotting each other consistently you get a new perspective of the game.

The problem I had in that game was that there isn’t anyone who can control the enemy Sparks other than Snipers. With her accuracy, headshot damage, self heal and unlimited ammo, all other mercs are outmatched at mid to long distances. And Snipers themselves aren’t as useful to the team as Sparks are.

Snipers have better optics but if he eats a lazor once or twice in quick succesion, he cannot contest the sight line anymore and must concede the lane. A body shot to Sparks on the other hand only forces her to heal for a brief moment before being able to peek again.

Rifles are 50-50. If the Sparks is able to draw out the engagement, the advantage slips in her favour over time. Rifle Mercs will run low on ammo and health but not Sparks. You either kill her outright or concede if she is skilled enough to survive a prolonged firefight.

SMG Mercs must kamikaze down Sparks in which case the enemy will start having trouble but this is only good in theoretical 1v1 which regular matches are not where allies etc can intervene and nullify close range combat. At mid to long, limited ammo and low effective damage you’re forced to simply ignore Sparks.

Sparks is too difficult to contain. The reason why are clearly because of unfair advantages.

Felix should be able to one hit sparks on body shots

In a short range duel, sparks has one chance to headshot her opponent. If she lands it, most opponents are dead. If she lands a body shot, she will beat most players, but really good players can probably kill her with headshots before she can switch to her empire-9 (she dies to 3-4 headshots). If she misses it, she has to run away or die. She is strong in sustained fights where she can abuse her healing, but any medic can do that.

She is also useless when surprised. She can easily be bursted down before she can react if you blindside her, and she is at a massive disadvantage if she doesn’t charge up her revivr beforehand. If you let her fight on her terms, she is strong. Engage on your terms, and her power drops to the floor.

That said, nerfing revivr headshot damage to +50% could work if she receives compensation buffs elsewhere (charge speed?). A minor battery nerf could also work. Anything more significant seems like a bad idea, though.

Also, @Rawr , you can’t really use “bad loadouts” as a weakness while 383 exists. If quick charge didn’t exist, 373 would also be pretty powerful – quick draw on a merc who switches weapons a lot, double time, and chopper + bat is a nice combo.
