Hi,
I have been getting A LOT of e-mails with the sender e-mail addresses as users of this forum, most likely we seem to be victims again to spawm.
My guess it that someone somewhere is infected with a mass maling worm.
Are there more people getting e-mails from users of this forum? (that they did most likely not send themselves).

Not getting any more.
The usual culprit are virii that search the infected computer stripping out partial and complete email addresses from HTM etc files (IE they are now a bit smarter than just looking in your address book).
If you are unlucky enough to be on someone’s computer who’s only got a few emails, then you can sometimes get proportionally more.
I had this problem a while ago - 3 different viruses were sending me 500+ emails each a day all from just 3 addresses.
Pisses you off but there’s not a lot you can do about it - althought the Mailwasher program and equivalents can help to a certain degree. At least that way spam never makes it into Outlook Express on my comp.
I get those emails from time to time, but they began coming long before I even played ET…
Anyway, I don’t worry from those emails since Norton Anti-Virus deletes the bad files automaticly and if it don’t, I get at least a warning and I delete those emails.
BTW:
For better protection, disable the preview window (I don’t remember how but you can go through the prefernces or search google) because some viruses and worms can run themselves when you see the email in the preview windows.
Ok, was just curious if other had seen this. It started about 4 days ago (part from the regular spam that I filter out)

have a bash with Thunderbird, the junk mail filters asnt bad, for client filter anyway. Cant remember if it imports settings from outlook, Firefox does from IE.
