South African Servers!

(Oats) #1

I’m not sure why we still don’t have South African servers yet for this game? Do people still think that we have lions roaming our streets or that we ride elephants to school. I feel this game could have a very large player base in my region if given the proper support and care, as my country is often overlooked when it comes to gaming which is quite sad since we do have a quite considerable amount of players but we are often severely limited in what games we can play due to server locations and no one enjoys playing on a UK server with +200 ping.

Valve is the only company to my knowledge that have really capitalised on the these short comings, by working with our internet providers (Internet Solutions, Telkom Internet, Afrihost and MWEB) they have set up servers for CS:GO and Dota 2, as a result the player base for these games in South Africa are HUGE almost every player in SA who plays online, only plays CS:GO and Dota 2 because its the only games we can play and enjoy with a respectable ping.

I do understand the game is in beta and you trying to make the game as fun and accessible for everyone all over the world, but please do not turn a blind eye when you’re thinking about creating servers for South Africa. Even just creating 2 or 3 servers is a start you never know may even need to put even more in, as often 10 to 12 SA servers for CS:GO are full of players and that is just counting for the public servers i can’t even imagine how many South Africans are playing competitive as the servers are often filled to the max on a Friday and Saturday night.

The game could be very successful in South Africa if the proper support is given! People in South Africa we want new games not everyone just wants to play CS:GO and Dota 2 days on end, we want new fun and competitive games and Dirty Bomb fits the bill perfectly. There are also many professional teams in South Africa which include Bravado Gaming, Energy Energy eSports, eternal.Conflict and Damage Control these are large professional clans that Cover a lot of games which include Fifa, Call of Duty, Battlefield, CS:GO, Dota 2 and StarCraft II. They could easily add Dirty Bomb to this roster. Bravado Gaming qualified for ESWC cup for CS:GO were they will be playing against the best teams in the World like Nip, Titan and Na`Vi they could easily attract a great deal of attention in the competitive scene for Dirty Bomb and to other South African players to try out the game.

I hope my post didn’t offend or anger anyone I know this game is not CS:GO it was just the easiest thing to reference and to try best explain my points. I do really want this game come to SA I’ve had my closed beta key since the start of May and 2 months later I still cant play due to the region lock. :frowning:
