Here is a quote from the press release of the new patch:
There’s also extended mod-maker support
I am curious. What is the extended mod-maker support? I know its not (yet) an updated SDK . . . . . . . . . . .

Didn’t you read the readme?
“Changes relevant for modders”

In particular, render to texture and dynamic shaders should let you do some really cool stuff. The binary messages could be pretty handy too.
Didn’t you read the readme?
Yes I did, and that is why I’m asking. Lots of those fixes are new code or code changes in the 3 .dll files. And since mods based on the 2.56 source won’t get them, I wouldn’t count many of them as extended mod support.
The updated game source will be released. These things take time. Think back to the source released that followed the RTCW patches. Once the updated source comes out, it should be fairly simple to merge the changes you want.
And since I don’t know who is using the time, I’ll just continue my virtual sit-in in the SD IRC channel.
