Source Available?

Recently it became neccesary for my clan to have a custom mod in order to control the specialized games/scrims we run. Currently we switch between mods based upon the use of the server for pub or scim. I’ve thought about this for a while and come to the conclusion that I’d like to combine all of this into one usable mod. I have finished everything needed for the combine including the ability for a ref to switch between ‘modes’ and having all players vote on the acceptance of the mode switch.

My question is simple. Instead of reinventing the wheel is the source for shrubET or something similiar available. Forgive my laziness but time and energy are always a constraint, especially when I sit in front of a PC all day at work.

Apparently ETPub covers most of shrub and the source is available. I will be contacting the author to ask his permission. Please ignore the previous post.

You could allso turn it upside down: contribute to ETPub and then ask if you could run a custom version untill the new ETPub version comes out which contains your stuff.

EDIT: Of course the name would need to differ, like custom<clan>_build…

I sent him a PM and asked his permission to use his source, even though it is freely available. I, also, mentioned all of the features I have are available at his liking and he may pick and choose which ones he would like to use, if any. I’m definately not a greedy person and I feel the easier it is to maintain a server for the admin, the better mood the admin and all the players are, hence, the more enjoyable the game becomes for the visitors. I find myself pubbing around a lot instead of hanging on my own server as sometimes the hassle of upkeep and moderation becomes too much…therefore, I’m still struggling to find that perfect balance.

As I asked him though, I only need the shrubET part of his code. I have no need for the other mentioned features, as some are already implemented, and some are not wanted. I hope he agrees.

Starting writing it while waiting. Finished. Only took 2 days, less than I expected, though I don’t have a lot of options that some shrub mods do. Oh wells it has what I need plus some extras I thought of.
