Soundpack problem on etnam mod

Hey folks, sorry for bothering you about this here but it seems the etnam mod site is dead :frowning:
I like this mod and will keepit running on our vietnam server anyhow.
Thing is I woud like to have some extra sounds on it and for some reason it doesnt work with an extra soundpack on… just partly… As far as I know this mod is based on ETpub and therefore shouldnt be a problem with soundpack.
Tested it on noqarter and it runs ok there.
It is made on the soundpacker pogram that were released here earlier.(cant find th thread right now)

anyone experienced the same or have a solution to me?

The menu is there but when I use for ex v 8 1 nothing happens

Look at original menu from etnam, check how its done there… then copy.

they got :
wm_cong
wm_marine
wm_nva
wm_ranger

so guess I will have something todo today…

I’m a bit confused here… cant make the nva and cong to speak vietnamese… I wonder if they hardcoded things to allied speech :frowning:
I’ve updated all the scripts like they have it but still doesnt work…
do I have to add it in the ui stuff too?

Well maybe start by replacing/testing an existing sound?

that one for example is defined for those 4 types, and cong & nva have it different then ranger & marine.
Then you can also test what happens ingame with each type.

ui stuff? No idea… since it worked for nq, I guess some stuff is just different in this mod, you have to figure out whats different. But I doubt its related to ui things.

I replaced all cong and nva with the axis that is original in my pack
and the marine and ranger with allied one…(replaced the text inside those files) something that in my head should make the nva and cong do the axis sounds… but no… doesnt work… So I guess those bastards( :smiley: ironic ) have hardcoded some stuff inside… or I dont understand how the files work…
but in the ui of the etnam pack there is a menu.txt what does it do? is it something similar to shaderlist.txt ?

menu.txt defines with ui files to load. so if you make a new menu, you need to specify it in that list. Similar to shaderlist - yep.

Maybe go back to square one, and experiment first with the existing stuff, before completely replacing it?!

no ailmanki… cant get this to work in any way… so i guess i will not have the congs talk vietnam like in the good ol’ days when there was a vs server :smiley:
