Sound crash again and again and again etc...

So lame I cannot play the game.

I’ve been playing The Witcher for 30 hiuyrs without a single issue, played BFBC2 for 2 years, no issues, played Portal 2 no issues, played Crysis 2 neither !

Maybe it’s time to fix the game ?

hi,

What’s your problem exactly? What’s your config? (which windows version, use steam or not, etc)…

Cheers,

  • Win 7 x64

All drivers up to date.

No issues on any games except Brink, computer 100% stable.

Sometimes the sound just stop, nothing more or less. Just plain silence.

To check to see if this might be a Xonar specific problem for you, try disabling GX function in the Xonar DS Audio Center.

I’ll try that, but the sound crashes happens always on the same maps : Container and another one I don’t know the name

And I have no issues on any other games, so it’s a brink issue, not a driver issue

LOL - ok I thought it was a general problem
What you now describe happens to many regardless of what sound card or onboard sound drivers they use.
The maps that appeared to be affected yesterday were reactor, aquarium and container city. Players had to repeatedly leave the server and reconnect to correct.

(Angry Machine) #7

I thought they fixed that in latest patch ???

Thanks for your help anyway

Mostly Fixed, but seems to have spread to other maps and more randomly occurs. Before it was always on refuel at the bomb exploding for me, and others reported it on SecTow although I never had that one occur proir to the patch fix. I now get an occasional sound drop on random maps, which requires me to reconnect to get it to come back.

It could vary well be an issue with your drivers and Brink. Couldn’t hurt to try the fix suggested at any route, or even still keep an eye out for an updated driver.

has anybody tried s_restart when they get the sound problems?

(Deadwalking) #10

Yes always crashes my match to menu or crashes the whole game to desktop. Might work for some, but not for me.

I would think AngryMachine already searched the forums though and tried that.

your pc is fine, its a game bug it happens to me randomly and to all my friends too, even after the path that was suposed to fix it. Had it on container city, security tower mainly.
