Sound jitters when large fighting goes on, yes my drivers are up to date etc.
Sound bug
Hey there obviousCylinder, can you please provide a video of the issue? That’d be great!

http://youtu.be/Et4rtLeLJB8 Here is the video i uploaded on youtube about the problem
It happens when you start losing frames. Not only do the visuals stop operating properly, but the audio can’t keep up either. Audio is connected to frame rate. If you have a “beefier” computer, I would use that one.
Unfortunately, there isn’t too much that you can do, other than play on the lowest settings or use a special config. I know that ChickennWaffles config works great on my machine, and gives me an extra 20fps.

i have a 970 and 8 core cpu and 16bg ram and i play on low must be a hardware problem
However, when the audio bug kicked in, your frame counter dipped from 80 to 20. Since you have a 970, I would suggest checking the Nvidia control panel and making sure that Dirty Bomb is set to run with it and not another integrated card somewhere else.
I would also suggest trying out a config just for the heck of it. It might help you fix your problem.
This is interesting, are you guys noticing this issue since the last update? Or have you always encountered the issue?
@obviousCylinder, I watched your video, I get the same horrific sound and my game turns into a slideshow as well. My problem is that I’m running below some of the minimum requirements so when there’s a lot going on it’s just like @Lonewolf said…the frame rate drops and the audio can’t keep up either. This is different from the recent complaints about the echoing/reverb sound.
Of course I use a tweaked out config (currently using Kroad’s cfg) but it’s still painful to play. Especially with a bunch of players shooting and throwing airstrikes. (8 vs 8 is a nightmare!) I never get acceptable frame rates and it can be really frustrating. I rarely win firefights and tend to just play the objectives and as a support role. However, I love the game and apparently I’m such a masochist I’m just struggling through it until I can afford to build new desktop.
So to clarify for @magnanimousBottle , the stuttering sound isn’t new but the game does feel “laggier” since the patch. The stuttering is more frequent than before and load times for maps are longer too. I never get to pick my starting merc when joining a map in progress or I get stuck in the deploying menu and the rest of my team starts the match without me. I don’t think there’s much more I can do to improve my frame rate but I’m open to any suggestions for config tweaks to improve load times.
*why does the forum think “maso-chist” is naughty? fuck!
I know that outc1der’s config is really good. It’s a bare-bones config that keeps the game from rendering just about anything. You still get muddy textures, as opposed to no textures at all. Look around the forums or Google it and you’ll find his config.

Weird. I get this behaviour now after the recent update. I trimmed everything back using the .ini file and managed a good, high fps. Never had any problem with stuttering sound since, until this recent update. (yes, I set the .ini to read only)
