Too many issues. Especially wickedly stupid bot teammates. Lag. No lobbies. Rank restrictions keeping my friends from joining. I’m tired of half assed games passing as finished. I luckily am friends with my gamestop manager for years so I got a refund. And just a heads up… they already had several used copies. Could have been a great game but as you all know devs usually think they know better and don’t really heed community gripes. I wish you luck fixing it.

so you got refund.

bye!

The games focus has always been multiplayer, 99% of the players don’t care about the bots.

Lag.

Find a better host/play the PC version

No lobbies

All the great multiplayer games of the past didnt have lobbies

I’m tired of half assed games passing as finished.

There are a few small bugs which given SDs history will be fixed within a week, quit whining and go back to blops.

The first 3 I could understand. The no lobbies part, there is a warmup period before you start, so you can invite them then. The rank restrictions are to prevent people on top ranks from going to the lower ranks and farming points. Makes sense to me. Get your friends to your level or vice versa, if you want to play with them so bad. And they could put the settings on my rank or higher. This game has some bugs, yeah, but it’s better to get them all nipped in the bud instead of them consistently happening throughout the games life. This game IS great, at least on the computer version. At least spend the money on something worthwhile, I hate to see us lose somebody to some early needed patches.

I used the money to pay off BF3

And to the poster who told me to go play bo… grow up.

If the game gets patched to my taste I will buy it again. I don’t blast those who like it so don’t blast me. Were all entitled to our individual opinions.

Sorry, but SD put /massive/ focus on the fact that SP was going to be as essential and enjoyable as MP. It was touted as a “seamless experience” from day 1.

The consoles should have decent online. “Play PC” is not an excuse for crappy coding on consoles.

Past =/= present. Lobbies are wonderful tools and simple implementations. The absence of a lobby from a game that’s been hyped by the devs as an awesome online experience is just baffling.

There are things that are patchable, sure, and SD have excellent rep in this regard. Lag and texture pop will be sorted soon, perhaps even a lobby will be inserted in a week or so, but there /are/ problems that cannot be patched:

SP is a mess and not at all the experience they promised us.
The maps don’t make the most of SMART, and it feels like a gimmick.
The graphics aren’t anywhere near as impressive overall as the early videos showed.
etc…

Now, before you rage at me, let me ensure you of a couple of things:

I <3 SD. A lot.
I love Brink.

The facts remain that the release has been shoddy and no matter how good the rep of the devs they made a bunch of promises that they didn’t live up to.

The worst part, though, is that they took an extra YEAR to polish the game and it still released in a terrible state.

Brink is /going/ to be amazing, I have no doubts it’ll be patched to perfection, but first impressions count and SD may have shot themselves in the foot.

Time will tell…

You didn’t even give them a week to patch, test, or fix the issues that they are aware of. No, you didn’t “give it a try.” You bought it, found there were problems, and dropped it within a 2 day period. I cannot recall any good FPS in the past year or so, especially the ones that are multip-platform, that have had smooth as silk launches across all platforms. Heck, most issues didn’t even get looked into for at least 1 to 2 week period of time before they would even begin to work on them.

I recently waited months for HOMEFRONT to be fixed. I’m not making a mistake that will cost me money in the long run. My window for returning games is very narrow so I’m not taking chances on future fixes. If I wanted to gamble I would goto my local casino. Gamestop is offering 23 measily dollars on trade in. Screw that
