Sorry for another DLC post but...

(Splash Damage AB) #1

Next week would still be considered early July right? I mean I kinda have this strange itchy feeling there will be an announcement Monday that the DLC releases Tuesday or if not that it will be release the following week. Anyone else got that feeling?

Also on another note it blows my mind how many people on this forum post here and don’t even read other post or read the official blog and then feel that should pass judgment when they lack information, I was just in a thread where someone did not know there was a additional patch coming with the DLC, how do you not know that?

(Codine) #2

i don’t really care when it comes out at this point. it’s already late by a whole month according to their post about it.

(Splash Damage AB) #3

@Codine, you did read the post they made on the blog though right? You do know they changed it to July at the end of June?

(Terminator514) #4

If it doesn’t come out this week, then it will be releasing in mid July which would make their updated statement false.

(digitalzero) #5

SD-AB, Which platform are you playing on?

(Crytiqal) #6

Did the PC already got their patch or is there another one coming when the DLC hits?

(SinDonor) #7

SD never said it would be out in June. That was a blogger from Bethesda. So yeah.

OK, I’ve seen this posted a few times but didn’t speak up because I honestly didn’t think many people thought this was true. This false information has to stop.

Stop blaming other people for not knowing the facts when you’re obviously clueless yourself.

Here’s a quote from badman in May:

On top of that, the Agents of Change DLC is just on the horizon, slated for release in June

So yes, June was pushed to early July and now apparently SD doesn’t know when it’s going to be released because according to them it’s being verified by Microsoft and Sony. This is regardless of the fact that every other company knows when their DLC is going to be released and it goes through the same process.

Its useless to argue, they said what they said some have been here for it some are just catching up. I think what really needs to take place is some community revival. This place is in desperate need of a medic… one bearing the gift of maps and the patches to end all this patching.

(dabis) #10

I really don’t care when it is released as long as it is bug-free when it becomes available, but I do have a gut feeling next week might be the week. If not, it’s no biggie. I enjoy the game now, and I will enjoy it after the DLC, so it doesn’t matter to me when it goes live. I am about as equally excited about the various tweaks and fixes that will hit the 360 game with the DLC as well, as I have been very interested in how the weapon tweaks will change how people play the game, even if it’s only slightly.

(morguen87) #11

If they were releasing it next week why wouldn’t they put a date on it? Why wouldn’t they say/have said that the DLC will be July 12th (assuming it’s a Tuesday or whatever other date)? I absolutely cannot fathom a reason why they wouldn’t advertise the date if they honestly had a clue. SD bit off more than they could chew with Brink. Adios Splash Damage.

(dabis) #12

Maybe they don’t have a set date to give people? Companies like Activision have no trouble setting dates for DLC and releasing them on said date, because they have been doing it with multiple games in the past, they know how the process works, and they have enough money to employ as many programmers and designers needed to finish the product in that time frame.

Splash Damage isn’t as big, and probably hasn’t had to deal with Sony and Microsoft as often as other companies may have, and since they don’t make as much as other companies that produce more popular FPS games (Cod, Halo, Battlefield, etc.), it would be better to not set a date and release a finished product when it’s ready, than to set a date, not have the resources to finish it in time, and be forced to delay an already set release date, or release an un-finished product. Since SD doesn’t want to see a repeat of the bombed release of this game (just assuming), I’m sure they are just making sure everything works 100%, while working through the process of dealing with Sony and Microsoft getting the content to the consumers.

Imo i think other games like black ops had their dlc ready be4 the game shipped. I mean look at how fast they are releasing map packs. sd may have been working on the dlc after the game went gold and were still refining the maps and weapon attachment balances until recently. and wasnt sure on how ms/psn cert process really works.
