Soooo... Fletcher With the Blishlok?

So I recently (this morning) got my first cobalt. It was a sexy Fletcher and it came with the Blishlok and Empire-9. I’ve heard it’s one of his best loadouts (2nd best it seems). I like the Empire-9 but before I had a gold Fletcher with the Tolen so I wasn’t used to using my machine pistol. So with the Blishlok… it’s interesting. Lots of fun though, I have some of my best games when I play Fletcher.
I just wanted to know your guys’ opinion on Fletcher with the Blishlok.

In my opinion, it’s the way to go if you plan to play in competitive (not the competitive MM, I’m talking real competition here, with pretty brutal players), since shotguns’ lack of range is a death sentence in competition.

I tend to pick BL33 since you have to switch a lot when you use Fletcher. However I also used BL63, and it’s a decent one. Of course you lack the Empire-9, but the Simeon is far from being a bad weapon as long as you have an automatic weapon as Primary. I didn’t tried BL32 yet because I don’t feel like I need Fail Safe, but it has Lock On and the Empire-9, so it can’t be bad.

lock on can be useful when you attach a sticky to someone at point-blank and its either detonate or die to SMG fire.

I think shotgun could work for fletcher in competitive on defense in general, or on some specific phases - when you have a specific corners to hold, e.g. last stage bridge is filled with corners that you can abuse.

Otherwise I’d probably have to agree that a only-close-range merc is too limiting for roaming the whole map.
