Something stange is happening to me.......

Guys, guys, there’s a wonderful world out there. Seriously, thanks for all the nice compliments about the game, but we’re morally if not legally obliged to point out that there really are more productive things to do with your time : )

Go on, take a break, go for a walk, write a letter, call a relative, learn to make Yorkshire pudding, read a book. You won’t regret it, honest.

Let’s make a deal. If you can honestly say you’ve learned to do a whole new useful thing, then we’ll let you play ET again. Whaddya reckon?

BTW there’s a german movie:
A gamers day

It shows a day in a gamers life.
Although it’s a german film there are no dialogues / only a few german words.

I think the end of the film is over the top.

read a book

i read the Daily Star today at work, does that count?

(eRRoLfLyNN) #24

I must watch that vid some time…

But Bongoboy, I have only you and your colleagues to thank for my (albeit limited) new found confidence in the German language! I am the envy of my friends and family. Women want me and men want to be me!

Surely this must count for something!!?

So what does Yorkshire pudding taste like?

(no_shad) #27

A savoury pancake would be a good description. A staple diet of us northerners along with eating coal and such…

Anyways, I took time out of uni to play et, I aint gonna give it up yet

Nah, we just taught him IRC, that should cut off his play time, and have him to do something useful

(eRRoLfLyNN) #30

And even less time for real life, yay!
Thx again Akilae, you & Salteh really helped me out there! :drink:

i used to play ET adictively but now i am free

i havent given up the game just dont play it that often,i think the trick is to take a break for it for like a week then play for some hours. you cant play a quick game of ET it dosent exist so instead play it out for half a day or something then just leave it till next week

however i spend all my time mapping now, i atualy find it quite fun i love the creation process and seeing all your hard work apreciated is realy satisfying. although it may be as sad if not sadder that playing ET you actualy do somehting instead of the repatative ET maps

yes repatative maps i noticed in my adiction phase that i had worked out my best way to win the map, i almost always took the same route and i new what route to take depeding on what situation, i was only playing to folow these paths to the objective in the hope to win like in SP game but then there is no END it just carries on, thats why i think most people find it hard to let go, you dont finish SP rtcw and start the 1st level again do ya :???:

(eRRoLfLyNN) #32

Mapping for, talking about, writing stupid songs about, thinking about, trying to get other people to talk about, finding it impossible to believe that other humans know nothing about, spreading the word about, dreaming about, fighting with girlfriend about, talking more about, watching ETTV Eurocup finals with booze on sofa, organising LANs about, setting up servers for, writing configs and campaigns about, talking even more about!!

That’s what I mean! You may have cut back on playing ET but most of your time is still spent on something to do with ET!! You see what I mean??!!

Isn’t it fooking brilliant!!! :moo:

I admit too, I’m an addict.
