Something Is Definetly Wrong Here....

There are classes whose purpose is killing people.
Aura isn’t broken it’s just that 99% of the player base is incompetent. Stations are generally easy to take out. If they’re poorly placed you can just shoot them and plenty of mercs can take them out with their abilities. Nobody ever bothers to take them out so people can just sit next to them and have infinite healing and thus insane Aura scores.

The power of ignored healing stations. Literally just sat on the first objective of underground the entire second half, because nobody bothered to kill my aura station.

I main Stoker now since he punishes station humpers so well (and because teammates never give ammo.)

I see no issue in your screenshot actually. Aura’s Station will bring her a huge amount of points depending of how much people will exploit it. On defense, people will exploit your health station a lot.
So recently I decided to jump back on DB for the first time in like 5-6 months after seeing this new update (Yay, I’m back, no one cares XD).

I’ve played a few games over the last few days, gotten the rust out, and I’m doing pretty well atm.

and then I saw this:

Now, I don’t care if this Aura was just extremely bad (which I doubt, as from what I saw, they were pretty good), I played as Thunder EXCLUSIVELY for that entire match, and considering my skill level, as well as Aura’s average xp usually gained in a match, this is unheard of. Someone please explain to me what MLG god possessed me during this match, because I’m sacred and going to lie down for a while… (please don’t take this post as a name shame, I’m just confused as to how I’m doing “so well” with Thunder.) We did end up loosing tho, as you might be able to tell from the scores.
Someone’s never heard of a smurf…

(SereneFlight) #26

I agree to disagree. I can’t think of anything better than running for heals and rezzes while enemies try to gun me down (yes, that stupidass medic was me) and as long my teammates are completely retarded, more often than not I’m having a great time being the only medic in 8v8 + having a long period of times when I’m not firing a single bullet… situations like that kinda makes me want RO2 style suppression mechanic in DB.
Idk about you bro but it’s the level 1 Aura with 5k points that concerns me. Pretty much what SD is going for lately. Everyone nowadays are decent at Dirty Bomb. That good ol’ “This game isn’t gonna hold your hand… It’s more likely to kick your teeth out!” just flew out the window.
what are you on about lol, you are salty a medic got rewarded for their play? Its not like XP gives you anything remotely useful, unless you are grinding missions.

More xp for medics? great, now people play them more.

More xp for giving ammo? great, maybe skyhammers will stop ignoring me

more xp for objectives? oookay, just as long as it doesnt make half the team play quakewars with this game.

(Scav) #28

It could be a smurf, but still.
Especially Aura and Phoenix are definitely capable of exploiting the fuck outta health insurance and healing xp. All you need is some teammates who die, but not too often, and occasionally kill enemies. And then you have your 10k xp, healing badges are almost automatic at this point. Its really noticable, and it doesnt require as much skill, trust me, im shite in the game and i get about double the xp every time as an ‘easy’ medic than anything else. (k, maybe engineers come close, especially with the new golden badge)

(Matuno) #29

Even when I wreck the entire enemy team and do all objectives single-handedly, low level Aura’s still match my EXP twicefold.

I didn’t want to make a point of it because hey, easy missions, but yeah.

No idea what the threadopener want to say, but everyone got sometimes a good streak running, thats nothing new. Just today i played Vassilli (With MOA, normally i play with FELIX) and just Hsed 3 people within 2-3 seconds then walked on towards their spawn and hsed another 4 of them within like 3-4 seconds.(They spawn just kicked in so i had 7 kills within ~10 seconds) Sometimes it feels like i am a god but these are rare occurrences and normally i tend to miss heads by a very…, well lets say i miss them by a margin. :*

About the Auratopic which has created itself in here, first i wanna say is that its strange that shes level 1 with 5k exp because normally the level shown ingame is changed if you level up midgame.

Secondly i can just say Auras exp gain is enormous, i got a good example for it which happened during me completing a mission with her. It was Execution on market and i played Aura on attackerside. We rushed A, camped in house i dropped my station and cowered in the corner. Revived 2 teammates during the camp and fired not a single shot. I came out of this round with a little over 6k Exp. Most from Badges and some hilarious health insurances with 854 being the the highest single health insurance displayed. This continued in the next rounds aswell from little to nearly the same which added up to 27k at the end of the game which had only 7 rounds.

Killing can get you a lot of exp if you do a lot of streaks for badges (Ace is already ~2k Exp) but a well played healing station is just… impossible to beat.

(KattiValk) #31

Isn’t the OP saying he’s amazed he beat his own Aura? Some Auras just don’t put down their healing station often and some teams don’t hog the station when it is down.

(LifeupOmega) #32

Could have fooled me after playing over the course of last week.

(briefPecan) #33

Aura on attacker especially very successful attacker side will not automatically net huge scores, constant relocation of the station, team mates not staying on it and if people don’t fall down who is there to be healed. Steamrolls do happen and aura is among the worst medics for such forward momentum situations.

Looking back on this post I should admit that it was late at the time I posted and I was tired. Prolly shoulda just said something during the game and dropped it there. XD
