Im no game designer or anything but how can you properly balance a merc/weapon/ability without having all of the others in the game to balance it against? Doesnt that seem like youre fighting a losing battle and just making more work for yourself? Wouldnt just putting them all back in the game and then spending those bi-weekly updates patching everything to a perfect balance make it a much easier time for everyone involved, devs and players included? I just dont understand the “okay this is our base. This is what is balanced right now in game…now we shall release this character that will completely change the base and create even more problems, potentially drive some players away and cause us to have to go back and fix/change everything we just said was our standard.” Just release the mercs and balance it properly.
for instance, phantom got hit with the nerf hammer so damn hard hes almost dead in the current state of the game…what about when red eye comes out? like it or not–red eye’s ability is a counter to phantom. what happens then? Does phantom stay as is or is another two weeks dedicated just to tweaking him when that time could have been spent on things that will improve the longevity and prolonged enjoyment of the game (new mercs, cosmetics, anti-hack updates etc)?
