(twt_thunder) #5

is it white or black that is high??

(Pray-N-Spray) #6

White afaik. At least for easygen is so :stuck_out_tongue:

(th0rn3) #7

just a suggestion, you can convert your picture to black and white, put a little bit of work to it and it will be a perfect height map

(twt_thunder) #8

when makineg the map in easygen… can i remove these lines?

“vertexremapshader0” “textures/nam1/grasstiled_0;textures/nam1/vxgrasstiled”

sadly, no. i just took a look again on the pic; it looks like a “hill-shading” type map instead of a “height-colouring” type of map (sorry i was translating the cartographic terms directly), and the latter would be a good one for this but the first is not. it will create a valley where just would be a downwards sloping side of a hill, and create a hill where would be the another downwards sloping side of that hill, because this “shaded” representation of terrain geometry or bumps or hills [im really in problem with wording] its pretty much imagineable as you are making a diorama, lightening it from a side and look it from above thats the basic look what u have on thsese kind of maps

edit: an example of height colouring representation of heights is nearly all (except g0ldrush) official maps’ command maps, and for example warbell (this came into my mind first) - on this latter really visible.
