I know this is long, but its chock full of goodies, thanks for your time.
So been really checking everything out in fine detail, from damage output to regeneration times on items an weapons.
Really starting to feel like the speed of the game is just right, besides the fact that strafing side to side still seems to slow.
As for damage output an fights not seeming to feel right I believe we can check out this perfect solution that you can all probably agree with in many different ways. Not to mention we all like to have a separation skill wise, right?
-Fights don’t feel right?
A) The body damage seems just right…what doesn’t is the head shot damage. Up it to 50 hit points per head shot with every weapon. Judging from what Valdez an I were testing this isn’t as bad as It may be sounding at first read.
-> What your going to find if you up the head shot damage is a significant increase in fun battles. There will be times when one player will ACTUALLY be able to fend off 3-4 guys at one go because his shot is far superior simply because he can aim better. We see it happen now, but not near as often. Also, believe this will show a significant gap in skill now an in the future. Personally, skill gap is what makes people want to learn from others an improve on what their doing. In which case you will find more players coming back that have the right drive to want to improve.
B) Side to side movement MUST be increased. If a player blind sides you, comes behind you, or just simply gets the jump on you. In this situation lies movement skills an many different player temperaments in fights. Basically if a player comes behind you, not only do you get hit an some weird push back or stop from the damage they did to you…you can’t even really move side to side to dodge bullets or make it a good fight. It’s another GREAT opportunity to separate the players from the kids. Another case where people will want to learn these traits better an make them come back again an again to improve.
****If you made it this far I can tell you now there is more than one of you thinking, well I’m already getting destroyed an this sounds like it will make it even more hard for me. Let’s look past this concern an see the bigger picture with an infinite number of more players down the road. ****
–>MOVEMENT in general
- I really have this STRONG desire to want to try a sprint bar an be able to shoot while sprinting. The mechanic would be such a game changer. ATTEMPT it, if it’s no good roll it back. This could be so huge in a way where it’s easier for ANY end user, but also has a significant increase in re-playability; an learning curve. ALSO, the physical push back that is applied (based on damage received); could we get a full ride an try without that? Maybe try a screen jump instead of a physical push?
–> Medic Mechanics
- Ok, been looking at a lot of different angles and the different medic loadouts. Is it possible to give the medic a slight increase in health by like 20 hit points. This is great an allows for the medic to be used more successfully then what is already happening in game. The machine guns that both medics have are slightly less stronger in hit points then the rest of the classes, so it will also balance that aspect out a little more I think. I know the hit points on the pistol are excellent; also the shotgun is terrific. (Shotty possibly could have one more clip worth of ammo?) Also the different health regen rates on the two loadouts are interesting an fun. Could we try both medics having a regen every One Second at a 2-5 hitpoint ratio. Which helps with the class more.
–Also the medic packs, this is HUGE. When you are handing out packs; the switch from packs to weapons needs to be reworked. What currently happens; if you give out packs an hold fire in; while switching back to your weapon you have to physically let go of fire an press it again for it to shoot. Also, if you don’t hold it in; press the packs; switch back to weapon; an you press fire to soon your stuck with nothing an have to almost double tap for your gun to fire. That delay in lies a huge challenge an hindrance on any fast pack to gun fights. (Hope that explanation is making sense)
A) Can we just allow for switch an shoot if your holding the fire button? Or does it have to be this way?
–>Shooting players, grenades, airstrikes
- When shooting someone hit noises is a good idea, but I think the way it is now, is perfectly fine, EXCEPT can we make the noises it does make now louder an more significant so you can really tell your hitting someone better.
-Possible to have a helmet falling off on a head shot?
-When you kill someone, right now it seems fairly difficult at some points to determine if the person is gibbed or not. Can we add a moving animation when someone is laying on the ground like they are asking for help or a medic (Also will help medics spot revivable friendlies). Once you fully gib a player he just goes completely still an drops the ammo pack, seems way more crisp an clear than that slight color change.
-Grenade priming - right now it’s all in the head ticking an priming. Can we have a legit tick noise for priming grenades.
-Airstrikes seem so dull right now. By the time you throw an it goes off seems fine. I feel that the radius needs be greatly increased an that the regen rate on throwing again needs to be cut down from 60 seconds to I’m honestly not sure, but definitely less. ALSO when an airstrike goes off an someone is within a certain radius or area the screen should shake like it does when the EV blows the door. This is more of an immersive thing to pull a player into the environment more which is extremely important in drawing people to play. There has to be a way more engaging feeling than what there is now.
-Second load out an second gun for soldier, seems to do great damage to the EV on the one map. But then does next to nothing on the other map? Is that suppose to be that way or what?
