Some questions about model modding

(XenoSilence) #1

Hello, Ive been reading around but I found most of the stuff not really answering my questions plus some of the links to tools and documents and such are broken.

Here are the things I would like to inquire about:

  1. How do I import and export models into 3dsmax from the several formats used by WolfET? If possible, through a third party, maybe WolfET->Blender->Max? or maybe some sample models that I can import to Max jsut to study how they are built and how they animate.

  2. What are the maximum polygons the idTech3 engine in WolfET can support per 3rdP-model/3rdP-weapon/1stP-model/1st-P-weapon?

  3. Are textures at 512x512 supported by default? (somewhere around 1024x1024 for first person models) (TCE uses 512x512)

  4. Are there any good step by step guides to properly integrating these to the game, perhaps adding new weapons/classes instead of just modding the way they look? (perhaps even removing or merging classes)

Thank you.

P.S. Im also looking for some coders and a few more artists.

You mean player models?

Lightray3D can im- and export them (as far as I know).
Although Lightray is shareware.

Is there any other option? perhaps converter programs that can convert them into models that I can natively import/export in Blender or Max?

And yes, all the questions are for palyer and weapon models.
