I’ve completed my first map but I’ve same question:

1- I use to do the final compile the option Q3MAP2: meta vis light filter bounce etc etc but I’ve start to compile at 22.00 and isn’t finished and it take long time when appear the dos window of portal:

is normal that it take very long time or not?
However I’ve stopped to compile… :slight_smile:

2-Where I can find a simple and good tutorial for do arch?

3-How I can add a fog to the world (all my map)

4-I can’t load the prefab…whenm I go to Edit anmd load prefab I can only select the file with .map extension…

for you compile taking so long: do a search for detail and structual brushes. by default every single brush
in your world will be structual, but basically you want everything else than walls, floors and ceiling be detail
brushes. the more structual brushes you have, the longer your map takes to compile.

you will need 3 key/value entries in your worldspawn and a certain fog shader. ask mister google for help.

that is common with the newer versions of radiant. are there still ppl who use pfb files? phew…

in general people here don’t like to see you missed to put some effort into solutions. it isn’t THAT hard
to do some search. if you still don’t get the point after reading tutorials and stuff, most ppl will likely
help you out, but you have to show some behaviour other than wanting to be spoonfed. show that
you tried to solve a problem will get you help quite often.
