Some Performance Tricks

(fzl) #1

hej folks…:wink:

I have in the last days times the performance viewed

so here a few little Tips from me

(remember! i use nvidia graphics card gtx590):eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Also for ALL Nvidia based systemsp, turning this on gives an increase :
Under the [Engine.ISVHacks] section change the following to true:

and last but not least use this texture settings from ailmanki`s Post

My fps drops are gone and i play on a full 16slotserver with stable 90-100 fps

hope this will help some players…

MaxSmoothedFrameRate=120

MaxAllowableRefreshRate=120

I don’t see the point of this since smoothframerate would only be active if your fps is 120 constantly without dipping or going even slightly over.

(Seanza) #3

I am already max’d out at 333fps. Still want more, but the game doesn’t go there :smiley:

(fzl) #4

without this settings i have still 40fps after the install…

my current system (2th PC …1th is under construction atm!)

amd quad core 3.4 ghz
8gb ddr3 ram
nvidia gtx 550ti

anybody suggestions to get more fps are welcome…!!!

(viruzz.) #5

I don’t get why your FPS is so low tbh.
I’m having 120 fps stable and my ghrapics card is a lot weaker then yours. (MSI GTX 580 OC Twin Frozr II vs. GTX 590)
Suppose it might be a processor case then?

Corsair Vengeance DDR3,3-12GB KIT 1600MHz
Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 970 @ 3.20GHz
MSI GTX 580 OC Twin Frozr II

i build some new configs read many treads of the unreal engine …normally i must get much better fps…i have no idea why…

my 1th Pc is complete at the beginning of august2013…i hope the problems are gone at this point!

I’m fairly sure this game is CPU dependent at the moment, and it’s not optimised. Lots of people with seemingly good graphics cards but rather weak CPUs report FPS issues. Personally I have a core i5, over-clocked from 3.4Ghz to 4.4Ghz, and the difference in performance at stock speeds compared to clocked is very noticeable.

(fzl) #8

hmmmm…interesting…

i take a new cpu phenom quad 3.7 or 6core amd no idea what is better…

the master problem is i have a watercooling for cpu/gpu…some cpu`s doesnt work correctly with this…

(Ruben0s) #9

This is your PC setup? I thought that you had a gtx590.

I get around 60-100 fps on my laptop with everything on low in the menu.

On my desktop (3 year old mid range gaming pc) its most of the time between 250 and 333 fps with everything on low and sometimes a drop to 150 fps.

But more than 60 fps is useless in unreal engines, unless your monitor has a higher refresh rate than 60Hz.

(Ashog) #10

Got a GTX285 FTW and still get 90-200 fps w/o any tweaks apart from those in menu set to minimum.

I have recently OC’ed my i7-920 from 2,7 to 3,4 GHz (and memory to 1600) and noticed a real boost from previous 30-90 fps. It also coincided with PSU exchange and map optimizations by SD recently, so I don’t know exactly what had a larger impact. I also agree with Kendle about CPU bottlenecking of DB, same was with ETQW. So strange that fzl gets so low fps.

Correct! thats the card in my 1th pc!..but there are under construction atm!

notice…my 1th pc is at home and the 2th at my girlfriend…!!! DB ALL THE TIME!!

i play with a sony 21 …screen 1280/1024 144 hz

(Ashog) #13

hmmm, I suspect that this sony isn’t lightboost capable?

But if it is, I highly recommend to switch to lightboost on your new pc.

(Rémy Cabresin) #14

I had 30 fps in inside areas on my laptop(i7 3610QM 2.30GHz, 8GB RAM, GTX660M) and was really struggling to get it over 35 with the ingame options DB had to offer so far. I made a custom profile for DirtyBomb in my NVIDIA drivers/software, now I get around 60-90 in open outside areas. So I can definatly recommend looking at your GFX settings to force things :wink:

(Vahl) #15

DynamicLights=False
and
CompositeDynamicLights=False

especially are going to break team recognition, as the characters wont be lit properly anymore, do it at your own risks, but if you cant make the difference between teams, that’s the main cause.
I personally would not recommend it.
