Some Ideas

So far I’ve sunk over 70 hours into DB and during that time I’ve noticed somethings that should be changed/fixed/added.

  1. Competitive Matchmaking is still very unbalanced and certainly needs a rework as matches are often heavily skewed to one side or the other. Most matches end with players getting ranked with players with much higher levels than them. Level 15+ should play with level 8-10

  2. I feel there is not enough diversity among the rarer loadout cards. I would like to see some more Cobalt/Gold cards with a greater variety of augments and weapons.

  3. Some short films promoting individual characters would be nice. I’m think something along the lines of showing each characters’ backstory. I’m not asking for the devs to write a complete and intricate storyline for DB but learning about how each of our beloved mercs came to roam the streets of irradiated London would be a nice addition.

  4. Improve the leveling system by refining the XP gaps between levels. It seems that anything after Level 6 just feels like grinding as well as a lost cause as leveling takes so long. As well, there should be large credit bonuses whenever one levels up (2000 for levels 1-5, 5000 for levels 5-10, 7000 for levels 10-15, etc.).

  5. Map tweaking should be done on a regular basis to keep the maps fun and interesting. A great example IMO is that the delivery point on Chapel gives a bit to much for the defending team, a slight map tweak by shuffling some assets around within the map to evenly balance the map to give a fair chance to both attacking and defending teams

Overall, I love this game so much and often find myself playing as often as I do CS:GO. I’m also a strong believer that his game has completely stolen Overwatch’s thunder.

  1. Everyone is quite aware of the really poor match making. It may be worked on, who knows?

  2. Every card that exists can be gotten in Gold or Cobalt

  3. We kind of have something like that called Merc Role Call, but it’s not lore intensive by any means.

  4. The leveling system is fine. It caps out at 400k xp beyond level 20.

  5. New maps take a long time to come out and tweaking the current ones isn’t exactly needed. I do agree with Chapel, but this can easily be fixed with a well timed air strike

There are so many areas that could be improved.

Chapel last is a nightmare, Underground last is just downright terrible, Bridge’s entire first section could use an revamp, Terminal’s first is disgustingly easy to shut down after the generator blows out, and Trainyard’s last is definitely a travesty in balance.

Tweaks will always be needed, it also breathes a tiny bit more life into a map when new routes are opened or changed up. I’d kill for more flanks in several maps, just look at Dockyard, that one is brilliant - it has so many different routes and it’s wonderful to play.

  1. I’ll take the balance issues over even longer queue times. I am fine to wait until we have a larger player base/beta ends.

  2. I don’t want to see pay2win even if I were mister moneybags (aka @Sniff )

  3. I don’t see why not, but I wouldn’t want resources going away from actual gameplay development.

  4. After lvl 5, lvls don’t matter, so increasing speed doesn’t seem needed.

  5. I don’t like bridge attacking much, but my understanding is balance is for competitive, aka stopwatch. That means both teams get the advantage for 1/2 the game.

I don’t want pay to win.

Was implying if I were able to spend as much as u have on the game.
