Hey there, I’ve been interested in Brink for some time now and thought it was about time I voiced a couple of concerns, maybe you guys can shed some light on them… My online gaming history for anyone that cares- UT99 duel/ctf, UT2004 duel/tdm/ctf, Q3 duel/ctf & finally a sprinkle of TF2 on top.

Having been used to games that offer high levels of client-side customisation (NOT character customisation) I doubt I could ever switch to something that were to have say very limited fov or viewmodel_fov or basic hud options for that matter. I’m also hoping you’re going to add an option to remove that sickening weapon bob… I could go on but I think you get the point.

Although this SMART system sounds like a neat idea on paper, it also sounds very dumbed-down, like it will actually limit overall movement that isn’t WASD/ESDF and therefore make gameplay very predictable, unless there is a hidden rocket-jumping feature im not familiar with?

I read that the engine is modified Id Tech4 with enhancements, would I be asking too much if the generation of PCs that ran Doom3 flawlessly would run Brink just as flawlessly?
