some competitive suggestions while queuing or in lobby!

(LiNkzr) #1
  1. Show how many people are currently playing a competitive match
  2. Show how many people are currently searching a competitive match and in what regions
  3. Make it so you can give others the party leader status or give them rights to invite people

I know lists aren’t best way to present stuff, but these are pretty straight forward.

also the title isn’t right… oops.

one way to promote matchmaking would be to give out bonuses during peaktimes.

if you get 5% more credits for matchmaking during high activity, people would finally get rolling and press that damn button

(tokamak) #3

You really don’t want people to join ranked games for credits.

All these suggestions are good.

This + estimated wait times.

Gives you an idea of how son you can expect to find a match.

I think bumping up this thread is now relevant again that private servers got taken down.

I think this thread had some good suggestions to make the competitive matchmaking better.

(spookify) #7

Why?
I am confused by this statement.

There’s so much potential!! Code away SD! Code away!

Statpadders and competitive players dont mesh well.

(spookify) #10

Not sure how that pertains to this thread but also the Statpadders would get smoked by the comp team or players.

There should be a nice reward for playing Ranked MM. Even if some comp team does que up together and face roll a 5 solo que. This has to happen all the time in LOL? When the player base is 100K people this should be a problem.

The Private servers however should have Credits disabled, crates and XP…

(LiNkzr) #11

I honestly think we would use competitive queue more if we see it had any activity, or we would que more often if we knew other people would see us on comp matchmaking.

I’m also wondering there could be a “Challenge system” where you can show your team that you are playing and some other team or mix can “challenge” you and you get matched instantly.

(titan) #12

We probably need a 5v5 queue system and a solo / duo queue system
Number one reason no one is playing matchmaking is because they don’t want to get stomped by full premades, which is exactly what happened when the match making first dropped and you could actually find a game solo queuing. Til this is fixed no one is gonna play.

Blizzard awards the same credits for unranked as they do for ranked. And the reason they do it makes a lot of sense.

There’s nothing more frustrating to have players on your team that aren’t giving it all to win. Who’re just trying out new mercs, routes, or who’re being simply clowns in general. These people will damage your MMR, the games you play won’t be settled by the skills of the best players but rather by the intentions of the worst players.

Therefore you really do not want to incentivise ranked play with anything else than rank. The rank should be enough. People who’re looking for anything else, credit, xp or experiments really have no business in a ranked mode.

Sorry but that’s a really stupid thing to say. So, if I want to play ranked, i don’t get any credits/gold for actually playing? Sure thing. I can see how LoL would have worked if their Ranked games gave no IP. That’s just hilarious. Basically, If I want to be competitive, I have to be content with the loadouts/mercs I have now and accept the fact that I wont be getting new ones at all. Please… let’s be real here.

Private servers are a whole different story. They can be setup however leagues/cups/people want.
