Sorry, but there is no current solution. All we can do is wait for SD to deliver.
solutions to a lack of populated servers
there isn’t? Really? Man i didnt know. My mind is blown that these arent magical solutions that would appear by the power of thought…
Perhaps a forum module, that lists all the populated servers live.
And the ability to note the time you will be on a specific server.
thats all i got soz
I don’t understand the argument that an external server browser is going to get more people in the game. It will make it quicker to see that nobody is playing I’ll give you that.
you’re proving the point right now. people are playing, everyday, but you arent aware of it. if you could easily look to see, you would look far more often. just that alone will help the server populate
Not really realistic at this point but one sure fire way to get people to play is to announce a tournament with prizes… preferably money prizes. Then proceed to give out keys to anyone and everyone who asks.
I would check every day several times a day if I didn’t have the hassle of launching nexon, logging in, then booting up the game, and then going through the first menus. It takes a few minutes and that is enough of a barrier that I don’t do it often at all.
thats never worked for any game if its bad cough wolfenstein cough. if its good, it would only artificially populate servers for a month or two. once they feel like they have enough good maps, and it goes open beta, im sure we’ll have PLENTY of people playing
Since when is every person playing interested in tournaments with prizes lol???
Something as simple as letting players change mercs between rounds would save so many servers from dying… Seen so many servers die because 2-3 people want to change classes. Combined with the regular 2-3 rage quits and a 10 man server gets pretty small pretty fast.
Actually had to wait to get it … I also had my first grenade rocks with Nader, pretty satisfying I must say.
Thats the other problem ‘the server’… :(. We need to get enough players to start up a second server, it seems to reach a critical mass so you end up with one full or empty all the time :(.
I believe changing mercs without quitting is in the pipeline (as is the external browser).
There is the hardcore veteran factor as well which is putting off a lot of new players methinks.
Chaning Mercs without leaving the game is a must have. Also the Launcher is not well thought. To see if a server has players on, I have to go thru the complete menu, select my squad. Why isn’t the server list the first thing you see when the game/launcher starts? The old launcher from SD with the Barracks was much better. I would like to have a server browser and with menu buttons in the right upper corner to change settings and change mercs.

Agreed, it must be infuriating when you start playing and only get pwned. Maybe a server could be dedicated to new players where the veterans can join, but have to be “gentle”. Of course this is basically manual match making, but it’s better than nothing …
In the alpha we did have ‘Veteran’ and ‘Casual’ (can’t remember the exact names) servers but there weren’t enough players so everyone ended up on the same server anyway - might be worth doing again now we are in beta…
As a test could even do some forced profiling using ECHO based on k/d though this might not be popular :).

I don’t think we have the luxury right now to get ECHO to rank us. We barely have enough players to get a server running, two is even harder. Hoping for the few next updates that the improvements on the maps will bring back the players on a regular basis
Yes, I think the ship has sailed on a lot of CBT players unfortunately :(, hopefully we can bring some back :). I think ECHO could be used to do some kind of ranking - I’m hoping that this is planned for matchmaking purposes anyway a-la SC2 leagues etc. (a lot more sophisticated than simple k/d of course, I want my hack lemming XP recorded as well ;)).
New game mode, at the end of each round the player with the highest KDR gets temp-banned from the server.
No way, they’re all just waiting for a reason to comeback, i.e. the game is too beta from them and they don’t get everything they ask for straight away (not a criticism BTW, I totally get it that if you become bored/frustrated with something you’re likely to pass on it for a good while).
