Solution to the CARB 'issue'

(Qbix) #1

Take the drum magazine away from the CARB and give it to… whatever, the Bulpdaun. Problem solved. It may be the ‘best’ SMG, but with high-capacity magazines and ductaped ones it simply… isn’t that great anymore. Would be easier and leave less butthurt people behind than damage or accuracy changes.

We don’t see both sides to this story though. We may get owned by some guy with a drum mag but round the corner he gets it in the face while he’s reloading :>

(Qbix) #3

You probably would be amazed by what people are capable of while reloading :stuck_out_tongue:

I would suffer from this, too, but I rather have to chose between CARB-ish performance while having not more than 45 bullets to pray-spray or some more difficult to handle weapon with more available bullets than watch people complaining and complaining until SD makes the CARB unplayable.

(Kurushi) #4

I agree, you can work around the reload time but I still think it’s quite isolated and situational. In a game with real team-work happening I don’t think the drum causes much trouble. I don’t need a drum to kill one person and I expect backup from my team thereon after

(Smoochy) #5

i find the Bulpdaun better anyway (IMO). the drum mags do help though sometimes.

(kilL_888) #6

sometimes i mow 2 or even 3 people down with my kross and drum mag without releasing my finger from my left mousebutton. dont know if thats a good thing though.

(Apoc) #7

i use high cap on carb anyway, drum mag has too many sacrifices for 15 bullets, should only take about 20 max to kill someone anyway.

(Qbix) #8

:stroggbanana: And now see it like a skill requirement for the casuals to pray-spray the same amount of targets with 15 bullets less compared to before. Can’t be wrong :stuck_out_tongue:

(tangoliber) #9

I always use the standard mags… I think about the first kill… especially since this game has a max of 8v8, meaning that there is usually opportunities to reload after a duel. Winning the first duel should always be your priority in my opinion…and standard magazines have enough ammo for that.

(Smoochy) #10

agreed. im using the SMGs again as im playing light at the moment. kinda like any SMG and a pistol but i find pistol and melee up close to be just as effective.

when im medium i use blaup and rhett. rhett is awesome now!

(Smoochy) #11

depends. with light i pray and spray more as you cant stand too still to aim. so i strafe circle and open up on you while i circle around you meleeing and shooting.

with medium i more aim for heads and burst as you have a bit more time. only recently started playing light and it does play differently

Wait a second…I thought the CARB issue has been fixed. It was never an issue for me because I didn’t use it, I use the Kross and a bunch of other guns.

(Smoochy) #13

to me it doesnt feel as good. although i have seen some people who are amazing with it. but to be honest i kinda doubt the lack of cheating of some players.

i like to mix up weapons. all SMGs are decent for different things. same with ARs

(Breo) #14

I tried other weapons and the Kross (front grip+muzzle break) feels like the old Carb9.

(Kurushi) #15

Completely agree. If you’re playing as a team (like you should be) then drum isn’t really an issue… only if you’re holding back and going for a kill streak. I find drum quite a disadvantage at times. I certainly haven’t noticed it being a problem against me

Even playing as a team I might be the one upfront to be the first to run into an oncoming wave of 4-8 enemies that just respawned together and are returning to battle. This happens especially if my team is at a choke point getting ready to push forward through a door or something of the like. The drum mag lets me kill at least 4 people on average before having to reload. When I pair this with nades or am playing my soldier and lead off with the underslung I can kill all 8 sometimes. This would be impossible for me to do without using the drum mag. So that’s why it’s good IMO.

Also, Kross all the way. It’s always been my fave SMG and will continue to remain so.

I am from the High Cap Mag school of Brink. I use Kross and all my guns with them. For me, its about efficiency and high standards of equipment. Drum mags are rather barbaric. (lol) I use nothing but hi-tech instruments.

Choke points or not, if the opposing team lets you take 4 of their players out with a single drum then they’re not really a team are they. They’re fecking useless

when I am a soldier, I´ll use the duct-tape on my presious bulpdaun. the fast 2nd reload attracts me as there are more bullets in the sum than in the drum. I often waste few bullets to keep the 2nd reload ready for the next dogfight.
