I was on the fence about buying this game and I did after reading this forum and some reviews. I logged some time and believe that at $40 (ps3) this was a good purchase, that can either just be that or hopefully something better.
CONS:
-I like stats and there are no stats at the end of matches (except overall experience). There is a website that is not up yet where you can see stats but I dislike this the most of anything. It does not have to be k/d ratio, but points earned healing or ammo or whatever. Just something to compare.
-Rubberbanding is in every game and about 10% of the games the lag was so bad I had to quit. The game did freeze once out of four hours of gameplay, but I have seen worse.
-No lobbies, confusing as to how to keep people together in a clan or party system (fireteam?) Still have yet to figure out.
-Challenges to earn attachments for guns is not enjoyable since most stick you solo with bots and against bots. Not very fun for me.
-Not a single person with a mic all night so far.
PROS:
-There were a few great moments where the game was clicking and was great fun. Reminded me of the enjoyment I would get some times when playing Killzone 2 which I believe is the best multiplayer FPS.
-SMART is great (sans lag) and the slide is a great tactical move.
-Good hit detection.
-Good bullet power. You will rarely die from a single shot and headshots do matter.
-No ten foot knife lunges or single kill melees.
-No snipers.
-Run and Gun is a very effective play style.
-Free DLC in June.
-The class skills are diverse.
I am not bothered by the following: The graphics are nothing special and the textures are poor. There are no traditional fps game modes of TDM or FFA. The character customization is almost tacky. The gun attachments are nothing new or revolutionary. Overall I am satisfied but instead of playing right now I am writing a forum post.
