Sofia First Shots

after some weeks of developing i managed to get the first look of my map; i mean all the buildings from 2 neighbourhoods are set & the underground bunker. The screens which i want to present to all, will give u some basic idea of what the map is going to look like.

Still, there are some unappropriate textures used for some buildings. The terrain texture looks like it is repeating often but i am working on it…

NB: The screens are in big resolution: 1280x1024; the images called " test x", x=number are my test textures for sign’s of the streets & neighbourhoods.

Up to now i have finished with:

– Objectives --Terrain (Buildings, Underground Bunker) – Little details
–Forward Spawns – Map Idea

We need light compile images!
Even just the skybox light will do if you do not have light entities. But Light compile really makes you images
better. No point of posting no light compile images.

Your underground area doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. The railgun, V2 rockets, and tanks are kind of just throw in there with no logical reason why they would be there

i dont think so. You didnt hear the story of the map? if u did, u would know that the city’s bunker against airstrikes is transformed by axis to so to say a " warehouse" where they are developing new sorts of weapons & rockets, therefore the “Dora” gun is here.
as i said, there are much details to be added in next versions of the map…

i managed to replace the screenshots with ones made using LIGHT… so u can check them :smiley:

Now those are far better, but why those shots look just like stalingrad?
maybe too like stalingrad.
And the “floor” looks too bland as a solid flat brush. And the texture on it it is too repeatitive.

@saven_dc: i made some research on the buildings during the war, also walked around Sofia, to look for buildings similiar to ones from 1940’s, and i made some. The strange thing is that the architects here mention that took ideas from Russian type of buildings. again i researched on russian buildings & i found that they look similar to ones here in Sofia. But i have already made many in my map, and i didnt want to delete them…

the texture… yes it has a stoopid look, working on it

PS.It is possible the buildings to look similar like the ones in Stalingrad, because i knew it was the only city that has something similar to SF, so i played it like 50 times only to stare @ the buildings & think of something…
