So with Playstation Online Down

(Hot-Wire) #1

And no real idea of when it is coming back, especially after the US Congress wanted to get involved a couple of days ago… Brink would be one of the perfect games for these type of situations, for us PS3 owners.

Heck if it does stay down past May 10th, it might actually be a selling point.

… or even if it comes back up. With this game you don’t gotta worry about not being able to access and unlock all the features, even with the servers down.

Ummm…

First of all, PSN will probably be up by then. I heard something about may 3rd being the projected date when it will be back up. By May 10th it will most likely be up.

How is this exactly good again? I mean players can still play singleplayer and unlock stuff… but how is it actually better?

Yeah May 3rd is the projected date, but after they announced that, the US congress wanted to get involved. I saw this on Fox news the other day and they said it might delay it further from the May 3rd projected date.

And I never said it was a good thing for online players, but the thing is there are games out there that have unlocks and game modes that can only be achieved online… while Brink, you can manage to do everything online or offline to your choosing. It will not be affected as much as other games, therefore for people who are paranoid of this happening again, they can get Brink, a relatively safe game during online crashes.

Let me remind you, this wasn’t the first time the PSN went down. It went down in March as well, but not as long.

It actually lit additional fire under collective SD ass, due to japs getting out new mandatory server SDK and ****. To have this kind of thing so close to release is, well, incredibly awesome.

Fox News is evil poison; don’t watch or read it. PSN was taken down in March because of hackers spamming them. Those hackers did this because a buddy hacker of theirs was taken to court (he isn’t in any real trouble too). They told us that “the worst is yet to come.” The worst came and they denied responsibility. There really isn’t anyone else to blame and they’re the only ones who made threats. So the culprits are obvious.

But I understand what you said in the first post. Having a great game with awesome A.I. and offline leveling would make this PSN issue easier for me. This what Brink appears to be.

You’re forgetting the part where they said their intention wasn’t to harm the consumer, but to punish the company. When they found out they were punishing the consumer as well they stopped immediately and said they wouldn’t do anything like that again.

(Slade05) #7

Fox did not tell him this.

(Hot-Wire) #8

I never once mentioned hackers. What I said was for whatever reason the network goes down.

Edit: NVM. Didn’t know who you were talking to until you quoted.

I watch Fox, NBC, and BBC. BBC is mostly unbiased, while my Fox and NBC balances each other out :).

news and reality should never be confused

I don’t know what’s worse news or reality tv. Leaning towards news though… more propaganda.

I do remember them telling us they were fighting for our freedom. No one asked for their help and things were going swell before they came. They called us ‘collateral damage’ and ‘paranoid jerks.’ I realise that they are denying responsibility for the current events but I blame them regardless. They had no problems with inconveniencing us the first time.

LOL!!!
Yea Sony is rolling out services from next week so probably the 3rd.

I can only imagine what some of the Online Required games owners are going through. I still own MAG, put well over 100 hours into that game, and there’s no way of playing without being online. To have just received that game, or been playing it pretty hardcore with a large clan, it would really peev me off if I suddenly couldn’t play a game at all (no single player whatsoever) due to a network being down.

Thanks to SD and Bethesda for bots. Seriously.

plz, dont. just dont. fox and news is contradicting. like henry rollins calls it: fox is more the entertaining and bizzare.

sry for ot.
