You guys just leaving us guessing? Is it just all the texturegroup ones with mips and lodbias? This information would be helpful for us config purists to get our settings back into range. It would be nice if this worked like rtcw/et were certain cvars were checked for being between allowed min and max ranges.
So where is the list of config locked parameters and their respective minimum allowed values?
You might have more luck with this posting in Splash Damage’s own forums. This post may also be of interest. I haven’t read through it in depth since I make very few changes to my config, but possibly useful.
Thanks for the link… its encouraging that they have someone working on this specific issue. I hope “smooth” provides feedback on what the current list of constrained parameters are for feedback.
i will share that the key to good fps is the cpu bottleneck (amd) and the best way to address this is too remove shadow detail as much as allowed, you can keep most of your textures qualities to whatever you wish. Shadows are the cpu killers!
The ironic thing about that is you can see shadows through the bottom of a lot of floors. So you would actually want to keep shadows turned on in some cases.
