So what's up ?

I like this game !
but all the usual stuff we need to enjoy the game are not here !

 • like crosshair cutomisation (unbelievable !! )
 • game balance (full hold syndrôm just kill the game)
 • All that BIGBOLDPLAYERSNAMEWHOSCREWUPALLTHEPLAYERVISION ! need some custom to
 • All waypoints icons (blind medic syndrôme) need to be smaller and alpha 0.2 or 0.5 at least.

If SD fix it, the game can be much better !
So I’ve come to the conclusion that you and wolfnemesis75 either:

(1) are so financially unstable that you will go to back-breaking lengths to defend a mere $50 purchase, OR:

(2) are somehow associated with SD and must defend SD’s honor, even though the vast weight of gamers’ opinions are heavily against you.

So which is it? Face it, not many people like this game and there are probably very good reasons for that.
False Dichotomy, Vox Populi and Ad hominem attacks all in one argument. OK.

I enjoy the game. It has some faults and I’m optemstic that SD will fix them, but I still enjoy the game. I can easily afford the game and am in no way conencted to SD (or Beth) other than being a customer.

Just because an opinion is popular doesn’t make it right. Remember when the popular opinion was “being gay is bad”?.
Brink, just like SD’s previous titles, is not for everybody. Lots of people came into this expecting a different style of shooter, got frustrated because it’s not what they expected and then raged and raged and QQ’ed. Doesn’t mean it’s a bad game. Maybe you can blame the advertising but when I looked at the available information the game I saw coming out was pretty much the game that did come out. It met my expectations and, as such, I was pleased with it.

The only bug I’ve had was the loss of sound bug (both on refuel and randomly after about 5 matches). It’s been patched (PC player here) and I get no lag, no graphical issues, no other problems. What’s to complain about? I like the style of game, I like the gameplay, I don’t think there is much of a balance issue (maybe the odd tweak here and there) and we’re getting free DLC soon. I’m currently happy with the state of affairs.

So why rag on us because we like the game and come to the forums to discuss the game with a smile on our faces?

I’ll defend a game I like if I think people are being unfair towards it and I do think a lot of people have been overly critical of the game instead of having a little patience, but then that’s my opinion and I’m here on the forum to discuss opinions. That’s what forums are for.

This pretty much sums up my opinion. I spend a lot of time looking into games these days before I buy them, I guess you could say I’m kinda picky. It’s not very often that I get really hyped for a release and Brink stirred up a little bit of hype in me. I knew what I was getting into and I got what I was expecting.

I mean sure there could be a few balances (CARB-9, looking at you) and there is a definite lack of content but other than that the game is respectably fun. It runs well, there aren’t many frequent, game-ruining bugs left and we’ve got DLC on the way. I don’t see why people have to come onto the forums, as zen said, and just openly rip on a product for no other reason than “its broken” or “its unfinished” when it’s nowhere even close to those kinds of extremes.

Nexo

EDIT: Oh and don’t get me started on the constant CoD comparisons. I bought this game because it wasn’t like CoD.
