So what is BEYOND The Ark - (Spoiler) Story discussion.

(Gamer2Gamers) #1

If you do the, “what if” scenario on the security side the boss man (his name eludes me right now), says they’ve been trying to avoid anyone going to the land because the last time they tried they got killed and shredded to the bone, he also said the situation on land is worse then, The Ark.

Do you think land is dominated by women who segregated themselves from the savages that are males who cause nothing but war! jk not serious with that one.

Seriously though what do you guys think the situation is - mutated humans? what can be worse then the security or resistance…that has pretty much peaked my interest.

I’m guessing lots of overprotective tribes as well as savages living off the land. The only reason they’re actually still around is because they’ve trusted nobody but their own and shot on sight. Not to say no one civilized still exists out there, I have hope the Guests will find somebody. But I’m thinking the reason most attempts have failed is due to extremely barricaded settlements with shoot first ask questions later philosophies.

Seeing how we are talking about a post-apocalyptic situation here, i would wonder either stronger society with advanced technology or mutated humans(not like zombies) but like fusions with other beings. To be honest this game has a good plot but the narrative and how the story was executed wasn’t satisfying. I know its suppose to merge MP with SP and SD is not a huge development team but this plot is begging for some awesome story presentation. Me personally im hooked to this kind of plot but sadly i have yet to see any games to successfully pull it off in SP but do nicely in MP like MAG and Brink.

Well if they got shredded, go back with more firepower.

You can’t sustain the population of the Ark where it is. The Ark definitely would need some on going support from Land, as indicated by… Well, everyone. Resistance, Security, and the Founders.

(Ainokeato) #5

The way Security acts, I’m sure it was their own fault for whatever may had happened.

Ya know, if everyone worked together on the Ark, they coukd just arm and train everyone, tow the ark near land, and take **** over.

Then both sides win

But then of course, you wouldn’t have a cool shooter. You’d have some kind of “work-together-for-the-common-good” game, where everyone’s dancing naked, taking hallucinogens and not cutting their hippie hair. In other words: MADNESS!

(Gamer2Gamers) #8

I guess a zombie DLC would make sense for this game since the ARK is as far off on the land as possible, hopefully not zombies though perhaps something more creative that comes in on a ship cause more havok on the ARK…but I wouldn’t mind a “what if” scenario for resistance that has a new map that features them reaching a shoreline to some small ghetto town with some sort of freakish faction.

(Dr.Ricktofen) #9

Madness?..
THIS.
IS.
ARKSTAAAAAAA!

(Cheerio) #10

That actually sounds really cool. Except the whole game is based around the 2 factions and I doubt they would reskin everyone. Well still a really cool Idea. Nice idea for a change of sceneery

(PillowTalk) #11

Idea for DLC: The Arkoal fails, sinking the entire city right on top of… RAPTURE!

(Dr.Ricktofen) #12

BRINKOSHOCK?

I wanna be a big daddy!

Pew pew plasmid + parkour = EPIC WIN.

(indirect) #13

You know, I don’t know. I would assume post-apocalyptic world as well. However it would be great grounds for a sequel. Seeing as the ARK is running out of supplies… they’ve got to restock somehow.

(Kill5Joy) #14

I think a cool idea for a dlc would be a giant super tanker crashing, or floating into the Ark. Then the resistance and security would fight each other to get to whatever is inside the ship. The security and resistance could each have motivs for wanting what’s inside, leading to more story.

(Kill5Joy) #15

and it be abandoned by the way, all rusty and decading on the outside but as they get into more sealed enviroments the ship looks nicer, meaning that there is a possibility of survivors.

(Protector) #16

That movie Book of Eli… its just like that! Denzel washington is kicking ass just by using his senses to protect a blind mans bible!

(Dr.Ricktofen) #17

Hopefully they will come out with some FREE DLCs, if they add a couple of new maps or something i would be MORE then happy to buy a DLC.

Btw, the book of eli was awesome.

Doesn’t he say they got captured and tortured to reveal the position of the Ark? How does he even know they got tortured? And why shouldn’t there be a society that managed to stay civil and why would they even want the Ark itself?

I think he lies cause the founders have a nice life and if their position would be revealed it could potentially get worse for them. But the world beyond the Ark is surely not all barbaric brutes all of the sudden.

Why can’t they be barbaric? They are worse off, the ARK has tech that kets them nake power, clean water, food, etc. While the rest of humanity lives in ruins, the ARK is better off, the others would want to take their tech. Turbines, windmills, water processing plants, and so on, would be a gold mine for anyone that could take it.

Its survival instinct.

That, and if they were civilized, they would have moved the ARK back to land and they could work together to build a better world.

I think the final videos are a better indication of what’s out there, since both sides are kind of prone to propaganda. The end of both campaigns show a luxury type yacht headed towards the Ark, with a detailed map and profiles on both Mokoena(may have spelled that wrong) and Chen. That seems to indicate that there’s another group out there(another Ark?) and they’ve been observing everything.

My guess is that future DLC will add a third faction, and the new maps will be Security + Resistance banding together to fight off the third faction.
