I really hope ppl learn to drop ammo
Right now it literally punishes good players who can say alive and get multiple kills.

Were all the ammo crates removed? I only noticed the one crate was removed from the right side (as attackers) of terminal’s second objective.
Only played 1 map so far Trainyard attack side’s most important crate(the 1 leading out into the door generator side of 1st plant is removed) Pretty sure the other one in the room overlooking Defender spawn is gone too.
The only 1 thats still there in the same place is the one near the delivery. I haven’t looked if they’ve been relocated though.
Honestly if it was so much of a problem I would of asked for a cooldown rather than removing/relocating them to useless locations.
Have they given a reason why ammo crates were removed or have they been placed elsewhere?
Ammo Cache Locations
A number of Ammo Caches have been moved or removed from the game. Some were too advantageous to key combat spaces - We want players to have to take a detour when using them to prevent defending objectives too effectively.
Which really doesn’t make sense because you have classes that drop ammo packs at astonishing rates. Whereas for most of these crates you must stand and wait for ammo to fill up and then run back whereas packs are instant and right there.
Honestly I reckon they’ll be back to where they were soon

except with the current merc rotation sky hammers artys and kiras are so rare i would hug either one of them if i could get some ammo from any one of the 3

The point was that the rationale that “plentiful ammo” makes defending objectives too easy is contradicted by a clear design choice.
Even though in their current form Ammo Crates are actually an inconvenience if you need to defend the plant as opposed to having an ammo dropper. WHICH DOESNT MAKE SENSE because they removed them because they wanted them to do what they already did?
Poorly thought out change imo. Ammo crates are more-so there to help people out in public matches anyways for when people don’t drop ammo. All it takes is 1 active merc with an ammo drop and your team can setup literally anywhere on the map. It’s not like these crates broke the balance in anyway.
Yeah, this is a terrible change. Nobody asked for this (queue Adam Jensen voice). All of the ammo crates were pretty far out of the way for the defense for the most part and it was a pretty big risk in some cases. Also, getting ammo back was super slow.
Seriously, I hope this is reverted pretty quickly.
Only a couple crates were too good (main one being the crate above the blockade generator on Bridge). Everything else was fine
The only one I thought deserved to be possibly moved was the one upstairs in the barricade obj room on Bridge. Always felt a little too convenient.
Nearly all the others had some degree of risk/reward and weren’t that badly placed.
The worst change was removing them on 2nd phase train yard and moving it to the basement passage. Your average pubber will have no clue it’s even down there.
The train attacking side generator ammo crate was removed to the bottom room(before the walljump)
We need to get Stoker out ASAP. The other Fire Support characters’ abilites are not useful indoors at all, and that may discourage players from playing such situational classes in the first place.
Imo it makes sense. It promotes more support play and less spraying. now you have to make a decision wether you go hunt for ammo or defend an objective with your secondary till a support comes by. lets be honest some ammoboxes (like the one on trainyard and bridge) allowed fragger and co to def 24/7 with unlimited ammo just a couple of steps away.If you want that you should absolutely talk with Kira
.
You already needed to do that
The ammo crate they moved on train isnt even that far from it’s original location. You just can’t hold that angle looking onto the generator repair while camping ammo(not like you wanted to do that anyway?) And it’s a nonissue when the door gets closed because the ammo cache is already so far from 1st plant.
Are people literally sitting in the ammo cache room not pushing out and therefore not winning games? How is THAT EVEN AN ISSUE WITH THE CURRENT DESIGN
it was a surprise , had given up trying to get ammo from team mates totally, which i suspect is why they removed/moved a bunch.
if there is one per stage are in each map ill get over it , but i didnt find em yet, getting better with the knife though.
That logic doesn’t work with pub servers which is the majority of the playing in DB. Most people get on pubs to play what they want or do missions and sometimes throwing out ammo or using an ammo class doesn’t factor in.
Forcing people to do something like that is just bad design. Luckily, after playing most of the maps, it’s a non-issue.

Some places were pretty overpowered to have ammo crates though.
Terminal stage 1, for example.

When I wrote that I was under the impression that most of the ammo crates were removed outside of a few very out of the way ones. After playing most of the maps since then I’ve found that the changes are perfectly fine. I guess I should make sure to always test myself first.
