So, the apparent "unfair" matches.

The game should just record our K/D ratio and use that to balance (ofcourse the K/D will not be disclosed to user, it will just be something the system records). Yea yea, I know, K/D isnt everything in an objective based game like this, but I do believe it is a good stepping stone towards more balanced play. If no one can kill on your team, then it will be a one-sided spawn camp.

Good morning Dirty Bomb forum o/

It appears there is a lot of discussion on what people think is “fair”, with a LOT of differences in opinion. This is nice to see c:

@CamBrah I do quite like the idea of the “alternate spawn”, however the main problem I can see with it is that the maps really aren’t designed to have a second spawn point like that  And also, gameplay is focused on holding choke-points as a defender, so if this “alternate spawn” were to be implemented, it may cause large imbalances and actually cause an overly large win-rate for attackers… Just something to think about ^.^

@IcySkyz Yeah, K/D is one way of doing it  I was a little disappointed at first when people seemed to think I was referring to “sort by level”, which wasn’t true at all. I think factoring in different aspects such as K/D, Win:Loss rate, player level and average per-match, could really help balance this sort of system. We shall see ^.^

It’s unfortunate that this isn’t already on map design.

It creates need of more tactical awareness and I see it as kind of organic thing that keeps on living and giving since you get different kind of experience from each map each time and have to react how opponent is playing it too.

K/D doesn’t mean a thing. I can get top score with Proxy by setting / defusing and only killing a handful of people, but be extremely valuable for my team.

Meanwhile there are Vassili’s who get insane K/D’s, but do not help the team / objective at all.

Can I edit for you: Meanwhile there is only a little fraction of Vassili’s who get insane K/D’s… Sry, i couldn’t resist :stuck_out_tongue:

So people can abuse it by letting someone kill them 100 times in 1 hour and then have multiple hours of fun against total noobs. 10/10 idea.

@laudatoryLunch I get what you are saying - but if you factor in the “possibility” for abuse too much, then you can simply write-off every possible system, because as myself, yourself, and many others here have said, NO system for balanced sorting will ever be “perfect” in a pub style game-mode, which is completely justified in what you have said.

However, why not open up a little and contribute to the discussion with your own ideas on how to improve the current debate, rather than just saying we are wrong. It would be nice to hear all sorts of ideas! After all, this is beta, and we are all here to help suggest improvements. ^.^

The chances of that happening and the effect it will have on your gameplay experience would be less than the statistical margin of error in most large nationwide polls. It’s a completely eristic argument.
