Vassili is super easy to use against even a full pub team of 8 newbies.

Vassili is far less effective against at least two experienced players who are familiar with the map and how to move quickly/less predictably.
Yup. Basically, if you know how to swerve when moving when facing a Vassili, even a good one, and jump off of walls and make sure you aren’t predictable you are incredibly hard to hit compared to somebody who is just running in a straight line (and probably with their main weapon out instead of a knife). This will make it extremely hard to be headshot consistently and they will instead have to settle for body shots…which mean little since a medic will be there a lot of times (in a competitive environment).

Vassili is only good in competitive right now because it can give you a quick 5v4 or 5v3 advantage if they hit some headshots allowing your team to push. But good movement and positioning counters this a lot of times so the people who excel at the class are pretty rare and often times switch to an off class like a Nader or another engineer depending on how things are going or what part of a map they are on. Also, it’s easier to hit a target who knows how to move with the PDP which is why it’s gained some traction lately…but then lost some with the HS nerf.

In pubs Vassili only competes because many people don’t know how to move and even when some people do they can still be hit since there is more things to have to focus on making you more vulnerable.

The same technique works quite well on a Sparks who is trying to snipe with the Revivr.
