I’ve noticed it’s been like this for ages (I noticed this earliest just over a year ago). I like to rocket snipe against snipers. It’s alot of fun. The railgun isn’t actually as hard to use as close up as people think (the fact that you can quickly switch to a blaster incase makes it ridiculously easy to take people out). Sniper’s a bit harder to use (unless you use the quickfire glitch) but it still isn’t that hard to learn to use up close.

Grab an icarus and oblit and just mid air rocket them.
If you dont know how to do that - just fly above them, press G, press spacebar and then press mouse1
Before you land switch to lightning pistol, in case they somehow survive.

I don’t have problems with the snipers, I just would like to know what exactly happened (if anybody knows).

It just feels like a new sniper/railgun-specific hack or something was recently released and now everyone is trying it, thus the sudden and striking (for me) influx of those players.

Well i doubt there are “new” sniper hacks, just the same macros that do the button pressing and weapon switching with smaller chance for error. Haven’t noticed any suspicious behavior but i just started playing etqw again.
