After a while you realise which guns suit your playstyle and which perks you want. Card trading comes with a noticeable fee, especially that you leave it to a chance to get the loadouts you want. I realised it’s far cheaper time and credit wise to actually purchase the bronze loadouts for 17k. You get what you want straight away without wasting your time and credits.
So it looks like for an experience player, card trading is a total waste of credits.
Most people do get the bronze loadout they want, then trade up their useless cards to try and get it in a better rarity for more bling.
Yeah, it looks like its the natural way of doing things for everyone who gave it a thought.
Right now cobalt is the most risky to trade up to because there is nothing higher and you dont have the option to ‘trade down’. Maybe at some point I can get rid of the cobalts that I dont want and maybe even some of the golds for credits or even a re-spin.
First I bought bronze loadouts to my mercs and then used rest of useless cards for trading them up. My target is getting cobalt loadouts for my favorite mercs.
I kept trading up these loadouts and ended to have very good golden one for Phantom.
Of course I took this one in use, so later when I’m going to trade bunch of golden loadouts for cobalt and if I can’t get the loadout I’m looking for, I can always go back and play with the golden one I already have.
all this trading, griefing and shiny bling bling stuff is for bored people with a lack of real life anyway.
sarcasm off
it has nothing to do with the game itself. just buy bronze and play the game.
Hi, i learned it the hard way and for the most part trading is useless.
Use your money on buying merks and getting bronze (17 500).
After that, if you got every merks you want+bronzes+some cash in the banks for the next mercs, go trade up. I think i spend like 300 000 golds for nothing because all my golds suck
Eh. I just used iron until I had nothing else to spend credits on, then traded up. Would rather have a merc than 2 loadouts.

But bronze is ugly.

And lets face the fact, everyone in game will glow either red or blue, thus blurring all the skins to look the same.
I guess a ‘fancier’ loadout card might be considered a perk when you kill someone… But still…
This is actually a contributing factor to my decision to stick with Iron until I was stinking rich.
Yeah, I decided to buy myself a bronze because I wanted the AK for Skyhammer because the M4 is not for me, not wanting to chance it and trade-up.
That’s why I have 50+ unopened crates and 100k+ credits.
I have all the loadouts I want (Bronze) , I dont want/need/like Silver/Gold/Cobalt, unless they come with new augments or something that makes the difference beyond aesthetics.

Meh, I have nothing else to do with my credits. I’ve thrown nearly 400k in for trade-ups at this point just for the sheer boredom of it. Rarity doesn’t interest me really, neither do skins. I Mostly do it not to be presented by having to scroll through 300 lead cards all the time.
Also, to piss off adeto by getting perfect cobalts on the first try.
Except that damn Cobalt that looks kinda-sorta bluish on enemies… It’s possible to mistake it for friendly for a second.
“Oh, a Kira. I didn’t know we had a Kira on our team… ding ding ding triple headshot from BR-16 Well, I guess we don’t.”
I plan to:1st. get all the mercs
2nd. get the best cards for the mercs
Then I will worry about bling
I’m gonna quote myself because the same thing happened again. Defending last objective on Bridge, I’m standing rear the front of the room and turn around to the center. And there he is - (&#$^ Cobalt Vasili leisurely strolling towards the objective, going unharmed past someone from my team. He came from the back and wasn’t shooting so he was 100% aware how Cobalt looks on enemies. I took me a good second to recognize him.
Luckily I was playing Rhino so he wasn’t there for long…
