So, is this new or has it always been this way?

I noticed recently that the Hollunds shotgun fired in a star pattern, out of curiosity I decided to see if the other shotguns did the same thing.

And low and behold…

Seems like it applies to all shotguns, and it also seems like it doesn’t matter who has it, every shotgun is the same except for the different stats.

Is this a recent addition or has it been this way for a long time and I never noticed it?

Wow, never noticed that before. Good find. Hope somebody can shed some light on this.

Now my only question is if the SMGs and Rifles all have a pattern as well. If so seems like Splash listened to us about having less random spread and more predictable recoil patterns…fuck yea.

I did a test on the spread for SMGs before OB and saw no pattern between them. Maybe this changed?

I’ll check, if I notice something I’ll let you know.

afaik SMG still have the annoying habit of drifting either left or right too, unless someone would like to confirm otherwise.

Well after a bit of testing, yea the fully automatic weapons, like the SMGs and Automatic Rifles, and the K-121 I am willing to bet, all have random patterns.

Check out this album

I was going to try to put them all side by side but I figured the results were pretty inconclusive. There’s no pattern really, the only thing that’s really consistent is tap firing, where if you tap your shots out instead of trying to spray they’ll typically go right down the center.

This is honestly kind of annoying, I was hoping the autos get patterns too since it leads to a more consistent and instinctual aiming. Rather than pure luck or lottery style, hopefully the devs take a hint from Counter Strike. Where the recoil would cause your crosshair to go in certain direction every time.

It’s always been like this. Means a well placed chest shot is the best place to aim.

all shotties use same pattern
