So yeah. Javelin and constant naging by a friend made me reinstall DB.
I changed my mindset and don’t give a damn about being bad and rusty and just try to enjoy the game.
But it’s tough. And I see not much has changed in regards of balancing.
So I’m asking is there anything planned in the near future to reduce stomps, stacking of the best players in the lobby in one team and people not shuffling when it’s clearly unbalanced?
So far I played maybe 10 games. All of them were one-sided. Either my team stomped enemies or enemies stomped us. Will the game do anything against it, and did SD manage to do anything in regards of the CMM they promised to do like what, 1 1/2 years ago?
So I was somehow forced to play the game again.
CMM is coming this Tuesday, along with Javelin.
SD did a minor merc balance tweak lately, and the pace of work on the game seems to be speeding up, so I remain a careful optimist in that matter.
if your team is stomping, switch teams, you’re complaining about uneven teams while perpetuating them

It’s possible he could be talking about games where both teams are full, but one side clearly has half newbies or something.

lots of things are “possible”
Thank you for that seed of wisdom
Josta welcome back! I started playing the game couple of months ago as well after a longer break and it really feels things started moving the right way ever since they separated from nexon. Give it a try;)
Maybe I just get really lucky, but honestly, I don’t see all of these unbalanced matches that people talk about. No game that I have ever played has perfectly balanced matches. In fact, most games are terrible at it. Dirty Bomb is somewhere in the middle. I suppose it depends on how you look at it though. If you have 10 players, 9 of which are evenly matched and then 1 person is high-skilled, a wildcard, then one team is gonna have the advantage. No matter how you look at it, a team will always have an advantage. To compensate for this, the opposing team needs to rely on various strategies such as focusing on killing the one strong person to level the playing field. Matches like these still feel pretty balanced to me. Both teams have a good chance of winning, the odds will never be perfect!
Nearly every game I join, the teams are balanced well (if there’s enough people in the lobby). Sometimes I feel like that wildcard I mentioned. The game tries to balance said wildcards by placing more low-skilled players on the same team as the high-skilled player, and then the other team has all of the average-skilled players. The downside to this is of course that the high-skilled player needs to try harder, but it generally works out pretty well as long as your team plays the objective… Now that’s the biggest issue I have in matches- players refuse to play the objective or they’re oblivious to when to plant/repair/deliver.
That’s my only real gripe with the balancing, it works if it was TDM or something, but as for focusing on an objective, most players lack the awareness or just aren’t experienced enough to complete the objective. Their skill is there (if we’re just talking about general FPS skills), but they’ll essentially refuse to complete the objective. For example, I recently played a match on Underground where the teams weren’t perfect, but they were decent enough to where we could easily blow up the first objective. Problem was, my team refused to plant. As everyone else says, they were playing team deathmatch! We had somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 chances to plant, multiple engineers, but no one planted. I was too busy holding back the enemy team and clearing them out so by the time I went to plant, the enemy team respawned. That lack of awareness or game mechanics that a lot of new players have is what lost us the game. Sure, this could be considered skill-related, but the game’s not gonna recognize this to balance the game appropriately. A player who were to join late in this game would probably look at it as a stomp/unbalanced match, but in reality, it was fair, just people weren’t doing their job!
I know this was long and pointless, but it’s just my opinion on the balancing aspect of DB. My experience in no way reflects that of others. In short, I think the game balances the matches pretty well, but the variety of players (those physically skilled, like aiming, and those mentally competent), ultimately creates an unpredictable gap in balancing in an objective-based game. They may have great scores, K/D, and even support their team, but if they fail to understand when to advance or complete the objective, they only have the APPEARANCE of being a skilled player when in reality, they’re lacking. I’d rather have more aware, terrible aiming players, than high-skilled, clueless ones.
Oh yeah, CMM will be here within 2 days, I just can’t imagine it will do much good.
I play an average of 3 hours a day and I see more post about unbalanced games than I experience them myself. I played the whole week end, maybe 10 hours, and only one or two games were unbalanced. Maybe I forgot the ones we stomped but overall, I play more balanced games than unfair ones.
Most of the times, unbalance is a consequence of bad choices (mercs and strategy) more than skill. I’ve seen coordinated team of LVL 20’s stomping vets in 5 min, juste because they move as a team. I Wonder how it can happen but it does.
Hopefully CMM will be able to keep the trolleys and jaywalkers separated.

If the enemy team lacks player I always call for a shuffle and if it fails, I switch teams. But sometimes the teams are full. I never abused the enemy having less people. get yer facts straight.
I know this is whining, but most of the matches are ruined by one really high player or multiple high ones stacking in one team. Most of the time players leave from our team and noone cares about it.
If CMM won’t have a force switch or a force balance, it’ll fail imo. I don’t expect something really game changing from SD anymore, but I’ll be fair if they manage to do something good after working on it for like 2 years or so.
Or atleast a proper Elo or so and it will keep the level 100 million player who can stomp a whole team out of normal games.

Maybe you’re very lucky and I’m very unlucky. But something should change so I stop being unlucky.
