As IDEAL is not supported as payment method I thought lets open a paypal account. I have more than enough money on the paypal account, but it gives me an error. It says that this shop wants the paypal account to be linked to either a creditcard or a normal card. WHY!!!

I’m not going to connect my bankaccount to paypal.

Worst thing is that I now have 120 dollar on my paypal account that I am never going to use again :<

Maybe the payment to PayPal hadn’t been fully cleared so you weren’t able to spend it straight away.

So it worked now right?

It’s a anti-fraud feature that has always been in Paypal, linking a cc to your account allow to authentify your identity and it’s thus tagged as “Verified”.
It’s to avoid scam, making sure you’re a trustworthy seller/buyer. It’s sometimes mandatory sadly.
