So, I can't play with my friends?

The bots are mostly idiots, I wanted to play some freeplay. Why is my only option to join by myself and hope there’s room for friends? How difficult would it be to let me form a fireteam and take that into a game? You even have the Xbox LIVE party tab in the main menu, but it doesn’t do anything.

The lack of a lobby is gonna kill this game, just look at Homefront. They ruined the ability to play with your friends and people stopped playing. If my only option is private matches or public solo and hoping I can eventually pull someone in that’s not gonna be okay.

No, that’s for a private match. I don’t wanna do a private match. I wanna take my friends into a public game, play against people. The only way to do that is to join solo then hope you can invite them, that doesn’t seem right.

The way I understand it is that you have to create your own match if you want to bring your friends into it.

It seems an arse about face way of getting to play with your friends, though. :confused:

The only match you can create is a private one which lets you play either against your friends or another clan. There’s no way for a couple friends to get together and go play against other people without joining by yourself and hoping there’s room. This was possibly the stupidest decision ever. Brink is a fun game, but if I have to jump through hoops just to play with my friends I’m not gonna bother.

You do it the ad-hoc way. You join a game and have them join it through the in-game Friends List.

why don’t PC players care about this ? Without having your own server, PC players couldn’t have this functionality. Am I missing something obvious ?

Yeah, but that’s where the problem comes in. If it puts me in a game where there’s no room on my team, they can’t join me.Then I either have to keep leaving and joining games til I find one with the correct number of empty spaces, or some friends are stuck waiting til someone leaves. I don’t see why I can’t form a fireteam in the menu then either join or start a public game and let people come in to that.

have you tried this, I don’t think custom game is the same as private game
make sure you set a fireteam with your buddies, it’ll carry over map to map

I have a very little question. Why is the ‘Play Mode Co-op’ grayed out? Isn’t that supposed to be an option? Do i have to enable something else to get that working?

Custom games are private games.

I think when you start it asks you to pick solo or however many players and the co op option should be there.
