So, how's Sparks ?

Oh boy ! It looks awesome !
So far I’d have to say her medpacks are underwhelming. The cooldown is too long for how much HP they give imo. I’ve also had issues with the medpack hitboxes. It’s really hard to hit players directly since they are so small and have had them go right through players at times.
Also had issues with the REVIVR gun registering on downed teammates.

I’ll try to confirm this, but it does significant damage to body shots when fully charged.
EDIT: Headshots don’t gib.
The devs said the other day that it’s not supposed to gib on headshot and I didn’t see it. However, a friend on Steam said he just did it.
The dev on the stream said, and I quote, “gibbing on headshot is a trait unique to sniper rifles”. So if it’s doing it then it’s probably a bug.
it doesn’t gib on headshot, although i had the impression that it did once, maybe that guy just tapped out fast.

Well dealing over damage by enough does gib, so maybe that player was very low on HP and the laser did enough to break that barrier? Just a guess.
Ok, i dont get it, how Potent Packs benefit Sparks ? Her heal packs are instant and revive is under different category.
As far as i understand it speeds up regeneration, not increases amount of heal recieved. At least according to description.

that makes sense, it was a aura i “instagibbed”
Strengths:
-
Med Gun is great for killing deployables, especially turrets.
-
Speed lets her get out of dodge and med up quickly
-
Empire-9 is a beast 1v1
-Being able to res people on an objective or escort while avoiding the nade/airstrike spam is incredibly handy.
- As a railgun, it works pretty well against stationary targets/slower moving heavies.
Weaknesses:
-
If you don’t take certain specific loadout cards, you are heavily gimping yourself (i.e charge up speed).
-
The overcharged state lasts too long and is too easy to trigger. I’m not sure why it even needs an overcharge penalty considering you need to spend time charging it for each shot to do anything anyway.
-
The rail shot feels like it’s off center a bit sometimes. Especially when on the move. Might be just imagining it shrug
-
Empire 9 is great 1v1 but any more than that and you will have typically burned through your clip midfight.
-
Not only do teammates routinley block your revive shots, but the hitbox is a bit awkward at the moment, especially if you don’t have a downward angle shot.
-
Because of the charge up, if you have other medics on your team, they will nearly always beat you to the punch and steal your revive before you can get the shot off which gets pretty frustrating.
-
Med Packs are not only hard to tag players with, because of their size, they are also harder to see for less observant players. Kind of feel they need a more obvious glow or something so people notice and differentiate them from the other drops.
I think she’s a roughly average, maybe leaning toward below average merc at the moment. I highly doubt she’ll see any competitive play other than possibly on the Chapel attack phase.
I think her main problem is she has a number of handicaps (overcharge mechanic, low health, machine pistol as primary etc.) which are a bit harsh considering she offers very minimal offensive threat. She plays very much like a pure support medic as opposed to sawbones who’s a true combat medic.
Definitely fun to use though and hitting friend or foe with the med gun is always satisfying.

I just opened the free elitecase and guess what a silver sparks loadout with get up the faster charge mg cooldown and a tolen (honestly prever it over the empire never liked guns that used up a whole mag per enemy). I’m not 100% sure (heat of the battle and all that) but it seemed to be that it adds a little hp (presumable 20%) over time ontop of the instant hp.
Edit. Nope doesn’t seem that way upon looking closer so I have no clue how it works if at all

I can pretty much agree with all of this. I really like her and she’s fun but the downsides are fairly heavy. I’d like to see them remove that overcharge all together given how often teammates will run right in front of your shot and prevent you from getting the rez. The fact that you move slower and it has a build up plus needs to be held till you line up the shot to either hit the downed person or the enemy seems fair counters to how strong it is.
Also fix the not registering the hit on a downed teammate thing. Shoot the same guy three times straight on and nothing jump and get a downward shot and it’ll raise him.

Her gun can gib. I know the video is quick, but it shows exactly enough. It was a low HP skyhammer hiding in a corner. 1hit at full charge = finished skyhammer.

Yeah pretty sure I gibbed someone too…
But I was really close to them, they had really low health and I had a full charge
So i gave her a few rounds, so far she feels like the weakest combat merc in the game. Her revive gun is pretty bugged and you cant even her the dinks from headshots (while i can hear them for every other gun)
Niche pick at best for now and probably the worst for public games. At least she is fun to play :).
As someone who hates playing Medic…she’s honestly the most fun, actually on par with Nader in terms of how much I enjoy her.
I thought the standard heal was 45, not 35. Spamming them at fights isn’t going to achieve much it seems.
