But really, can anyone give me any tips or anything about how to beat this damn level? Playing on campaign and since I have to do the hacking to get it done reliably. I even set it to easy just to try and beat it and still got my **** wrecked!
Not like I’m bad, just that the bots have better aim-hacks then any of those noobs making them now do.

This map is the hardest imo. Because the Engineer fix is hard and then you still have the hardest part, the Hack! Fix the bridge helps a lot and attacking from that side. You need help from other players rather than bots to beat this one. And a strong team effort is necessary, with a good Medic. Also, Caltrops are a must to scatter around. Leave enemies down unless they are a Medic. Kill the medics. Leave the rest to wreathe on the ground. Set up a turret or two towards the other side of the Hack box.

My only advice for crap objectives like this and the one I think on terminal (where you have to crack that safe and run the intel to the train station thing) is to try to camp out the objective as much as possible before starting, and waiting for as many friendly bots to catch up to you as possible. It really is absurd how stupid your team is while the enemy bots are insane.

Just try to wait until you have most of your team with you, that’s your best bet. wait until they all re-spawn (because they’re probably all dead at the same time) and try to get them to run with you. They’ll wait until you do something interesting and then hope most of them catch on.

Man and I really wanted to try and hack it. But its almost impossible with bots “covering” you.
Anyway thanks for all the help guys, I’ll see if I can beat it after work tomorrow.

Use a shotgun with a speed strap and go into one of the rooms on the side of the hack. They are little two entrance passageways on the bottom floor by the missile. You can pull out the shotgun really fast and hopefully destroy whatever sorry bot pokes his head in. They will try to remove the hackbox WHILE you are hacking so be ready to peek out.

For the repair, you can repair it from the side, hiding behind the controls looking towards their spawn away from the main gate. As long as the bots distract… you should be good.

Always stop the objective when being shot. You lose by wasting time running all the way back. Faster just to shoot the bot.

I’m stuck at that mission too (in solo mode).

If I do the hack, my teamates can’t defend me long enough. If I’m an Engineer, I put a Sentry, Mines and use the Minigun to eliminate the entire enemy team on my own, but that’s not enough.

That mission showed a serious flaw in the AI system.

First, they go for secondary objectives all the time, despite the obvious priority being the main objective (“Capturing the crane !”, with only 2 minutes remaining).

Second, the bots can NOT take risks at all.

  • while I was mowing down waves and waves of enemies, the Operatives finally found their way to the objective. They started hacking (finally !).

  • but at the FIRST shot in their direction (not even a landed hit !), they stopped hacking and rushed the enemies with their weak SMGs.

  • then, for the next 8 minutes, I was killing all the enemies with my Minigun (getting ammo from the few Soldiers running around). The Operatives NEVER resumed on hacking, they were strafing and aiming at the enemy spawn exit. And I couldn’t give them orders (like “HACK THE CONSOLE OR I’LL SHOOT YOU MYSELF AND DO RUDE THINGS TO YOUR DEAD BODIES”).

I quit the game and went to Freeplay.

I’m OK to go through the crappy “Escort the NPC” missions.
I’m OK to have rather-stupid bots to deal with.
I’m OK to have to do (almost) everything for the mission.

But I can’t kill the entire enemy team alone AND do the weapon-stripping objective capturing, I expected the bots to at least do the skill-less stuff by themselves but nope.avi :confused:

Tried this mission with four or five of us and couldn’t do it in two days of trying, did it in one go on my own.

First part is just a case of bum rushing it and chipping away bit by bit, sometimes you get lucky and get a big chunk done. As for the hacking, if you were to go around the left hand side of the map and ended up looking at the crane there’s a place to hide inside the boat at the right hand side. You should get three bars signal in there, I just waited there and kept peaking out every so often to make sure they don’t remove it.

Got it to over 80% the lost it all but second try it worked.

Shipyard Timings:

Offense:

  • Repairing takes 70 seconds, and it’s NOT reversible by the enemy.
  • Hacking takes 80 seconds (after hack box is in place) and at closest distance (+10 xp). It’s slower if you are further away.

Defense:

  • Un-Hacking from 99% takes 40 seconds.

I’m not going to tell you how to how fun. If you are seriously frustrated, you can try one or more the following. You can always play the map again later on regular difficulty. Whether you want the challenge or not is up to you.

open the console by CTRL+ALT+~
Change the following variables to you liking.
bot_aimSkill //Sets the bot’s default aiming skill. 0 = EASY, 1 = MEDIUM, 2 = EXPERT, 3 = MASTER
example: type “bot_aimskill 0” without the quotes make the bots shoot worse.
bot_minClients Keep a minimum number of clients on the server with bots and humans. -1 to disable
example bot_minclients 8
bot_uiNumResistance The number of Resistance bots to add to the server. -1 to disable
bot_uiNumSecurity The number of Security bots to add to the server. -1 to disable

You can use these to imbalance the teams in your favor I think.

I completed this by myself. Very hard mission IMO.

The way I did it was I became a Heavy with a Maximus and also an engineer. On the bottom to the left of the hack spot there is two doors leading to each other inside. I put down a turret buffed myself and camped in there like crazy. I shot enemies, but focused on medic while letting the turrent finish off. I got really lucky my Ally bots came and help take over the spot while the spec ops hacked it.

Just beat this on Hard difficulty, solo, playing as Heavy Engi/Op.
The hack objective is a bitch but I took the maximus and galactic as operative, and had to do ALOT of killing around the objective. I didn’t bother with disguising as the hard AI seems to see through it very fast. I also got abit lucky as a team AI had planted and started the clutch hack to ~10% that I finished with just seconds left on the clock.

Bots are an entirely different story. Their aim needs to be made much more realistic. You could get a drop on some of them, get him down to half health and SNAP! he would turn around and insta-kill you with headshots. :l Screw that.
