So for those of you who have played Overwatch

Does anyone else think of Dirty Bomb when they play Soldier 76?

I was really going to think I would hate this game till I tried him, he feels like I am playing Fragger or Skyhammer with the M4.

If Dirty Bomb has some bad times ahead, good to know I can still get a similar satisfaction with this guy.

“we are all… ummm… naders now!”

with the new rotation its good time to play OW

Only on 120 fps
Overwatch is weird in a sense that your mouse feels weird unless you have your game on 120 fps.
But a character with an assault rifle primary that shoots straight hitscan bullets and can sprint doesn’t only remind me of Dirty Bomb FYI.

i played the beta…and lemme tell you, you cant ADS with him or jump off walls, so no.
also, sprint is on toggle no matter what.

(Mrarauzz) #5

Soldier is super solid now after the mcree nerfs. I had all my playtime with Mcree but now that soldier is better sinking more time on him.

(Tanker_Ray) #6

Only thing I felt uncomfortable about him was my myself trying to sprint forward for reload cancel.

Fxck me.

(K1X455) #7

I played the open beta. Not going to pay a AAA for a re-skinned TF2 with butt poses. And the server’s 20 tick rate? Nope

(KUST__LunarTM) #8

I only played the Beta and only played Soldier: 76.

(Dysfnal) #9

You mean Gimmick: 76, right? Or COD? Oh wait, they’re the same character…

Regardless of how cliche he is, he’s fun to play, and whenever I feel like playing him, I warm up with M4 Fragger, makes my aim insane when I switch over

Isn’t this guy completely broken ? I heard people run full soldier teams and steamroll

(HunterAssassin5) #11

hmm…assault rifle, direct-impact rocket launcher, health station and aimbot ulti…no, i cant figure out how it could be possible, either.

Am I seriously the only one who uses toggle sprint? Also, yea, the number of times I have tried to walljump in Overwatch only to realize I’m not playing Dirty Bomb is insane. When Dirty Bomb faces bad times, I will play Overwatch. I just won’t get the same feeling. Many Overwatch characters make me feel slow and sluggish.

(Orivar) #13

Yeah I think about dirty bomb. I think about the servers.
Isn’t this guy completely broken ? I heard people run full soldier teams and steamroll
He’s a Jack of all trades, but none of his abilities in my opinion out perform anyone who’s purpose is what one of his abilities can do.
His rocket/grenade launcher thing has a small cooldown but compared to someone that uses explosives like Pharah or Junkrat he they’re not all that powerful or versatile, considering Pharah’s likeliness of being above who she’s shooting at and Junkrat’s indirect fire.

His rifle is in a really big middle ground compared to other hitscan weapons.

His healing ability is nowhere near as powerful as any healers.

There are people who have better mobility than him and his sprint and he’s really on the low health side.
What people tend to complain about even in the game itself is Ultimates in soldier’s case 1/5 of your screen is marked with a big circle, so long as an enemy is that circle he’ll go for headshots and his gun will track them so long as they’re inside but you’ll still need to try to center the them into that huge circle and some tanks can survive through all the damage he does some can even mitigate it entirely or outright kill him with one guy since he deflects shots right back. As Seen Here

There’s also the fact that every ultimate is loudly announced by the enemy with only Reaper and Pharah announcing mid deployment so taking cover or outright killing soldier is possible while he’s about to activate his ability.

Dirty Bomb, TF2 and Overwatch are completely different games in my opinion and don’t get why anyone makes a comparison of any, especially when talking about Soldier 76 who’s meant to be “generic soldier” for overwatch, who’s meant to follow a style anyone can handle easily.
