So Disapointed With The In Game Community

So I joined a stopwatch match as it was about to start. The map was terminal and there were only a few players. I was on Attackers. The defense manages to push up and blow the secondary tunnel pump. They set up an Aura Rhino camp near there and wait there. I was getting tired of my team running to the camp and dying so I told them to run around it and stick together. Someone on my team initiates multiple shuffle votes and they fail. Then the same person just sits at the back of the map and just starts to inspect his gun and does nothing else. Then I try to kick him for this and it doesn’t succeed. I also tell him I’ll report him for intentionally being a waste of a spot (basically afk). Then he starts a vote to kick me and calls me a hacker (My performance in that game was below average though higher than that of any of my teammates) And then a bunch of people vote yes and I get kicked.

Yo bro, instead of trying to kick him, ditch that game and search for another. If your score was below average i’m assuming you weren’t going to get any progress in your missions. You’re better off finding a new game and get some progress from there.

People can be stubborn in video games, its everywhere. But you know what? It’s a pub you have the privilege to get the hell outta there and ignore those useless idiots. If you know better than them, don’t play with them, na’ mean?

Shuffling votes spammers are generally dreadful guys who don’t even know when to use it properly. And they also generally are the ones who sit comfortably somewhere building sand castles and do not care about doing the objectives. If they kicked you out, nevermind, find another server, they were not worth having you on their server.

The biggest problem with shuffle is that there’s 95% of bad usage of it, even in stopwatch. The problem is that they mostly call shuffle votes because they don’t achieve to get an objective, which clearly does not mean that teams are totally off in balance, especially with the current maps (some maps have way harder first objective than second/third ones).
Un-balanced situations occur in less than 5 minutes. If people start shuffles after the clock went below the 10 minutes mark, I’ll always vote no. The second round if shuffle passes will be biased anyway, so I prefer to finish the map quickly with the team as they are set.
With the current auto-balance system (not talking about team lock, just the balance system), which somehow reduced balance issues, there’s no reason to have a shuffle vote (as long as they are not too many leavers and most of the people got shuffled in pre-game menu).

9 out of 10 people agree that the best time to call a shuffle vote is within the final two minutes of the second SW round.

Really don’t understand why the game doesn’t have autobalance for teams. It’s necessary, so that it’s never 2v6. That would also prevent the needless shuffle votes, since it shuffles before every match.

Welcome to any online video game ever :stuck_out_tongue: People react badly to criticism and being ordered around in their freetime.
There’s not much you can do apart from just changing servers.

Hey man, come play with me more, I’ll vote no, and I’ll even be your Medic.

You have good games and bad… sometimes everyone pulls together, the gameplay is amazing, and even the other team are in on it, making the whole thing fun and lighthearted. Then you get games like the one I played last night… people within teams actively attempting to sabotage the efforts of their comrades who are actually trying playing the game. Not to mention the insult matches, and some of the stuff that gets said… it robs the game of any fun. These guys are right - it’s not worth playing with people like that, find another server.

All this said - I DO have sympathy for the lost XP…

And that’s why we need dedicated/ rented servers kids

I am saying that in every similar thread, there are x different people with different mindsets.

When you have people owned/ run server. They can better manage who plays on their servers. You then have communities built around those. And then voila, different flavours of servers start showing up. Servers with high skilled people not really playing for objective, objective hard core servers where the pub team can work like a clan and even use comms, servers where people only practice trickjumps and movements, servers where people only mess around etc…

Again, people want to do different things and they view “fun” different way.

Now, you have only one kind of public servers, the SD default ones, you cannot expect everyone who comes to play, to play super duper objectively oriented. It’s just making no logical sense

Yea, there are always d!cks in-game.
You can’t do a thing about them, just move on.

You know what’s funny?
Nobody calls me out if I manage to have aim bot like accuracy when playing Kira, but I get called a cheater when playing Vassili.

I suck with Vassili.

Have you come here to get a hug? Sorry I do not sympathize with people like you. You tried to organize a bunch of random people with low morale, you couldn’t do anything about the rhino yourself, your teammates were frustrated so they lost the will to fight, no matter the reasons you end up arguing with them in the end. If you wanted to win you should have created an opening as a leading player. You failed to realize the situation you were put, you let the negative emotions take control. Honestly, with so many essential parts being in pieces what were you trying to achieve?
I am often put in similar situations when I play PUGs. If you want any help from people that already gave up or are simply dying over and over again, you have to make it personal, use their nick names and ask, propose a team play, never demand or offend. On top of that realize the key points in which your teammates are dying like the rhino aura camp you mentioned before and deal with it yourself. You would be surprised how well the influence of one player affects the team. Obviously there are games that you won’t be able to win, but putting a decent fight is a different story. I hope you will realize, that having a higher skill level than your teammates is meaningless if you use it to get a few kills more.

I agree with Resine that the crybabies such as OP are near the bottom in the list of gamers you want to play with.
It’s one thing to give constructive criticism in a fair tone and another to bark at people like they’re dogs.
What I do is have fun with and by myself and don’t let anything bother me. I even have disdain for splash damage’s phrase ‘don’t be a d1ck’. I often myself laughing like a maniac at the computer screen when people are randomly mean to one another.
The point I am getting is that many people loathe self-righteous people, who have no problem with projecting bad things on other people when it serves their own image.

Attacking team in Terminal in nutshell:

  1. Camp in the generator building because attacking for losers.
  2. Lose control of the building because enemy came in with the big guns.
  3. C4 on generator? Pft. Let’s just bang our head against Rhino and hope it works without switching to mercs that would be great in the situation.
  4. Whine about the balance.
  5. That guy in your team who said about stop banging your head against Rhino and rushing at the wall? Pft, he’s a noob.

(Resine) #15

That’s your problem, if the team doesn’t do what you want them to do adjust your own gameplay. You see bunch of noobs rushing Rhino and you get frustrated, from the other hand Rhino is constantly distracted from the front, so 4. sneak behind and score few hits in that bald head of his.

(RyePanda) #16

The difficulty with that is I had no assault mercs. With Fletcher or Proxy it might also be possible, but I had Bushwhacker, Sawbonez, and Arty I think. So taking out an aura camp on the interior solo with those mercs probably was just going to result in my death. So I went around them as Bushwhacker and managed to get several plants and defend them for a while before the enemy team fell back, and me being the only one at the objective, I was killed and the plant defused. So I did what I could with the mercs I had. I was trying to achieve a plant so the enemies would fall back and my team could push up to defend it. However, my team never pushed to the MG balcony, so my plants were defused while I was waiting to respawn.
