Just installed the latest Catalyst driver 11.6

hm. i read by a few people that the get the ctd. i personally didnt get any.

have you uninstalled the previous drivers? did you use driversweeper and ccleaner to cleanse all leftovers from your drive?

heres what i did:

  • uninstalled cap, unistalled drivers with ati install center via software in control panel
  • reboot to safe mode
  • clear leftovers with ccleaner and driversweeper
  • reboot to normal windows
  • install 11.6
  • install cap for 11.6

runs fine. no crashes and i just played 3 maps in a row.

Nice that works for me, probably because I also installed the hotfixes.
What is the cap version? I never installed it :o

They said that all hotfixes of 11.5 will be included in 11.6… but crossfire is still not working…

Well, I tried Brink yesterday with 11.6 …and…still the same. I would say it was actually a little bit worse. So, Brink is no longer on my computer and will probably never come back. It was hard to even find a game with more than 4 players. Of the two full games I saw, both were on private servers. This game is a sinking ship.

hm. where are you from? im from germany and i get almost 40 servers with at least 4 players on them with less than 100 ping. most of them are actually full and i have trouble joining them sometimes.

anyways. there are only 4-5 servers i usually play on on a regular basis.

I’m in the US and live in Texas, which is usually great for games because a lot of servers are usually in Dallas where I can ping like 20-25 to. But, most of those servers are deserted now. I only found maybe 5 servers that I could ping under 100 on and the two full servers were private. I’m not sure the time though. I just started playing Black Ops and I can find like 20 full servers at 3AM with great ping. Now that the Xim3 is out I’m probably gonna just go play on consoles now anyway. Besides from Witcher2, there’s no good games coming out for the PC. Every game I want to play now is on console.
