So....anti ev placements

(watsyurdeal) #1

So we have mounted machine guns, great, but in a future map, would it be interesting to have anti ev mounts? Like an RPG Launcher or something similar? To bombard and pressure the EV or destroy it?

It creates a tactical point of control, where the opposing team needs to get around and clear out that trench in order to push up, what do you guys think for a future map?

Unless the map has a roof a fire support will do much better.

someone had an amazing suggestion for a secondary obj - roof - that would protect the ev from fire support

yeah…that was someone…

I think in order for that to work and be fair Watsyurdeal, those mounts would have to be a constructible secondary for CDA, and a destroyable secondary for Jackal. If Jackal has manual control over such a powerful piece they will wreck CDA much like they do now if they control CDA turrets. Only it would be worse because of explosives. Would be a cool map though I think.

Taking away the effectiveness of a combat merc or fire support merc doesn’t sit too well with me. As long as the damage was balanced out correctly, I think it would be an interesting addition. Even more so for all the people that will try and get some nasty headshots with them on players.

There is an RPG Launcher in the game files, it might come with Javelin, if so, having access to these “anti-EV mounts” would make Javelin (or whoever gets it) really useless I guess.

Hmm, don’t feel Air Support-mercs will like such a thing.

Like the idea, but it’s placement should be balanced in a way that attacking players can reach it the same way as the defending ones.

yes, but you will have to crack that whip for new maps.

Why not have MG nests be upgradable, maybe a HEAT shell firing turret like a TOW or a mini autocannon, along with possible defenses for the gummer and the ability to actually damage/destroy them.
