Sniper Idea Damage and Beyond

Suggestion for Auto Sniper
Same ROF as Covey in ET (test) (Need a little more advanced recoil)
Headshot = 50%-55% Life (2 HS on all but Soldiers = Kill)
Chest, neck Only!= 20%-25% Life
Arms and Legs and toes and fingers = 5%-10% Life

Perk that allows sniper bullets to do 5% more damage
Perk that Decrease Damage 5% but allows player to?
Perk that Decrease Damage 5% but gives player?
Perk that Decrease Damage 10% Allows and Gives player? (Extended Clip, ? and Something)
Perk that Decrease Damage 15% but can call in a satellite that can reveal an area of the map and can then target a spot in said area doing something like slowing, bleeding, emp or something can sucks for the enemy…

Base always 2 HS to Kill (Except Solider) (ROF and Recoil Must be set appropriately) (Still or Crouch to Shoot) (Max Recoil and Spread while Moving)
(While Pushing Auto Snipers Should rely on Pistol) (Smoke) (Stun Grenades) (Camouflage) (Something else)

Sniper bullet that can Stun/Flash/Blind? Slow Bleed? Slow Movement? Increase Damage Taken? Reduce Body Armor? Life Steal?
Note: Auto Snipers Abilities are weaker then main sniper and it takes more hits to get the same effect.

Again these numbers should crazy like 2 hs kill but remember the hit boxes are small and SD can make them even smaller or bigger.

There should be a risk and reward some sniper perks. Please state some ideas if you have them.

Edit: This thread has been going a few days now does SD have any feedback on what they are thinking or where they want to go? Are we on Track? Are these Good ideas you are considering?

What strych said is spot on.
It doesnt make sense to nerf a weapon, when its impact is already lackluster.

Sniper is my secondary class right now and I may not be the best sniper in the world but Im quick and if any of these damages cleared I would add snipers to the trash tier. 20-25% DMG is near the bodyshot damage of the soldiers MG. Why would you play an auto sniper when you can play a soldier and do damn near the same body shot damage with an 80 round clip full auto? You wouldn’t, because it would be retarded. You would have to land every bullet to kill 1.8 people with body shots where as the soldier and lt, can do 4+.

Just a comparison so you can understand how ludicrous your damage proposals are. If these damages were scaled and applied to lets say an Lt, it would need to take roughly 20 headshots to kill a soldier. TTK for an average player would probably be 15 seconds or they would just run out of ammo trynig.

so 4 bodyshots is to much for you with an auto-sniper like the covey in ET?
so 2 body and 1 hs is to much for you?
Sooo Tink…(1 full second) Tink is to0 much?

SD can balance the ROF and Recoil along with any perks that will make the people play the class… The more classes you have the more perks are needed to balance the damage or lack of.

Did many people play auto-sniper in ET? Larger maps 2 hs with the auto-sniper was easy… Im not saying its perfect but it cant be as powerful as the big sniper.

I would rather decrease damage then add spread and monster recoil…

The body shots in this game are or should be lowered so Im basing my numbers off that.

It’s not whether it’s difficult for me or not. It’s a matter of balance. Your suggestions will make the class, by a huge margin, the weakest class and guaranteed most unplayed. Go read my other posts before you inferno me. I already explained why.

I was just using example and was trying to counter your point which I dont fully understand.

Inferno’ing me means posting back to back multiparagraph responses mostly inflated with half way thought ideas to support a weak or dead argument.

Yet again I advocate for the sniper to have a dual functionality in scoped and hip fire modes so that it isn’t such a niche weapon and doesn’t need such high damage to make it useful.


“Pulling an inferno” is when you say a medic can beat a soldier when they play smart and aim really well. Not to ignore the fact that I’ve always demanded more recoil and less body damage on MGs since the start of alpha. Too many accomplished pro gamers in this forum though so meh.
