Sniper - Hold Breath Control

(iwound) #1

I vote no for this feature. whenever i use it i feel like im trying to learn a chord on a guitar. trying to keep still and search for shift and only press at the right moment. meh hate it.

I’d rather just have a general small amount of movement. keep it simple.
if you use it, its deadly on a still target. so no skill.

Of course I voted “No”, I don’t want to see any of those CoD features in the game. The sniper rifle should also have less movement.

(Dthy) #3

Having to hold shift to hold my breath makes crouching whilst it’s near impossible to crouch whilst sniping. I’d like the QW way of a little sway.

(Ashog) #4

I win with my m2 crouch

Still no.

(Rex) #5

I have the same problem like Dthwsh with crouch, since I got it on ctrl.

(Mustang) #6

If it’s going to remain at least make it a separate bind to sprint.

(Evil-Doer) #7

I’m a little against the grain on this one. Personally kinda agree with the hold your breath feature. Adds another element.

(INF3RN0) #8

ETQW style. 4 zoom levels with shake at the highest zoom.

(Humate) #9

I wouldn’t mind an etqw style of sniper, but the current one is ok.

(nkm) #10

I don’t feel that it adds anything, I’d suggest removing it. If it’s in there to provide some sort of balance for the sniper then I think that there are better ways of doing it.

(tokamak) #11

It adds to the immersion and these days most people will expect it.

It should be harder though. Holding breath should give you only a fraction of a second with full control, after that the fall off in accuracy needs to increase rapidly.

It also shouldn’t be tied to the sprint key.

(DarkangelUK) #12

Sorry but expectation shouldn’t be a reason to add something. Should quick time events be added too? F*** expectation… someone needs to break the mould of standardized crap that has been plaguing shooters for the past few years.

(Evil-Doer) #13

It really is quite a powerful weapon if it gets in the right hands. Breath holding is nothing new to games…give three solid, legit reason to not have breath holding for a sniper an you may change my mind.

(DarkangelUK) #14

I feel like you’re tokamak’s little elf helper here, but what’s the right hands exactly?

(Evil-Doer) #15

Are you talking to me darkangel? If your against a opinion just because you don’t like somebody is completely wrong. Just saying…I have nothing against you, so keep that in mind. If you don’t agree with me that’s completely fine. I respect you for that.

I’ll stand firm on the one thing that I may not agree with everyone with. Reason being I got some god damn back bone an I won’t back down because of someone that doesn’t like me,…woopty ****in doo your 11 star don’t scare me, I still am capable of an opinion.

Excuse me? I think you’re thinking a little highly of yourself here, please stop taking things so personal and we’ll all get on a lot better. My point here is that tok usually hates when people earn their skill and he wants to knock them down a peg or 2 for taking the time to learn something… that’s all I gleaned from your comment. You say that the right person could take advantage of a steady sniper rifle… to me the right person is someone that has taken the time and effort to learn how to handle the gun well, and to me they deserve to reap the rewards of that. Adding an artificial hurdle of having to hold down a button every few seconds does nothing for the gameplay itself.

If you think that means I don’t like you… holy ***** dude you have problems.

(BioSnark) #17

If you call someone a helper elf you might expect a reaction.

(DarkangelUK) #18

I guess some people are very emotional… time of the month perhaps. I’ve been called worse and brushed of harsher terms… seriously.

(DeTh) #19

I vote no.
It really doesn’t add depth to the game. It’s nothing new or intuitive it’s just another random button you have to push in order to snipe accurately. I think it would be better if you had to control some minor sway and fire.

The game is already faster than most games, the maps are very tight, and skilled auto players can out snipe a sniper. If you make sniping more complicated than what it needs to be it will just be an ignored class.

Also the zoom on the sniper needs to be reduced by like 30-40%. Zooms in way too far.

Bro…You know what…forget it. At this point you hit 5,000 posts with me an congrats. I could care less what you think. I posted my opinion whether you agree with it or not, is perfectly OK. Have a nice day sir.
