I have started to notice more recently that certain abilities are either being almost instantly countered or being removed by a team member. With friendly nades and smoke knocking off the Molotov fire from the EV. The Smoke and Fire combo is also causing some issues with players accidentally knocking away smoke or people throwing a smoke into fire.
I feel these forms of interaction are doing nothing but causing huge frustrations currently. I feel like I am one of the only people in public using my fire to knock away smokes and stuff but I also feel my team are extinguishing my fire far to frequently though poor play. If Stoker and Redeye had like 3 abilities it would not be such a problem but currently it just makes the abilities feel quite random.
Obviously you could look into simply removing the effects from team mates or simply remove the effect all together. I am not against this kind of thing in general but I do feel that massive AoE abilities clashing is not the way forward.
Also, I understand there are quite a few issues with the Molotov and Smoke already that will be adding to the feeling of frustration but I am finding that accidental interactions are my most common frustrations while playing as a Stoker.
Quickly, I know its not exactly the same but as I am on the subject of accidental team troll, I would like to talk about the Smoke in general. Too often I am having smoke explode at my feet from a team mate because he wants to hide inside it as a Redeye. This is a huge problem for me on maps like Underground and Victoria where the defensive positions are small. Also even when the Redeye throws a smoke towards the enemy they often just block their teams view almost completely. That is why I would like to look at the idea of making the enemy cough while in the smoke and make them spotted randomly while coughing. I still don’t think its perfect but right now the ability to troll with a Redeye is just too great.
