keep in mind they run a straight line without vaulting or mantling and it’s 9.58s to be exact, without carrying a gun or armour
SMART Movement quote
If their heads have “realistically” evolved to such proportions then perhaps their muscles have too.
10 years ago a running back could do 40 yds in 4.2 seconds, wearing pads (armour) and carrying a ball (pistol), now they’re even faster, 20 yds in 2 sec would be easy
In Cankor’s quote, the guy said the good people will use a mix of them, using what’s right for the situation. But I thought doing it manually was supposed to be a little bit faster than using SMART, a tiny bit more efficient, so there will be a reason for those with the skill to do it. So, when would it be more efficient to use SMART over doing it manually, just wondering?
It’d be easier to just use SMART when you have a short gap or just sliding to get under small stuff instead of trying to pull it off yourself because you know you’l get it right if you use SMART. It also won’t really add a lot of time onto your moves, so there’s little reason to do all the key presses to do the jump or whatever you’re doing.
Ahh, I see. The link in Weapuh’s post, that page it takes you to. The last paragraph, before the conclusion, that explains it a bit. Makes sense now.
Well, the example they used when saying you could do it faster yourself was things like starting the move before smart would kick in:
a) If you are going to climb that wall anyway using SMART, you run at it and jump before you get there and shave a little off your time because you started the maneuver part way up.
b) Similar concept for vaults, if you are running at a rail or something like that, SMART kicks in when you hit it, so if you jump as you are coming up to it you will put one hand on it and vault over it much faster than just hitting it and climbing over.
They also contradicted themselves a couple of times saying anything you can do with SMART you can do manually, but said things like wall hops (I think?) you could only do using SMART. It’s understandable that contradictions will happen, so I’m not nitpicking, just pointing out it happens so not everything that is said is literally always true just because someone made a blanket statement saying it was.
Do you have a jump only option, or the SMART button make all
those jumping/sliding/climbing through objects for you depend on your view (up,down) direction?

afaik, SMART = Run
just hold it down to let SAMRT decide (based on your view) how to tackle an obstacle.
take a table as an example.
option a) run towards the table, look up and keep SMART button pressed = you will vault over the table
option b) run towards the table an press the jump button pressed = you will vault over the table
Please take into consideration:
advantage of b) you may be a bit quicker with the move / disadvantage of b) you can mess up the timing and lose time
as cankor mentioned nothing is written in stone, yet. otherwise look at the compednium in my sig to read up…
