Its called z-fighting. This happens when 2 (or more) brushes are at the same place resp. close to each other. Due to rounding errors in the z-Buffer, z-order determination is sometimes wrong.
There are several threads about it.
What ragnar means is that make sure you don’t have any brushes with different textures overlapping with each other.
